Dmitry Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=34292 CHARLIE PARKER INTERVIEW-1952 This is a short (20 minutes), but very interesting interview with "The Birdman" Charlie Parker from 1952, on CD. The interviewer is unidentified, but this audio sounds like it was recorded in an apartment, rather than a studio. The sound quality is pretty good, however. Parker talks about his whole life and music in this interview. From his early family life, to his beginnings as a jazz muscian (the first song he learned to play was "Up The Lazy River"), stories about recording dates, and the state of his life and work in 1952, just three years before his early death at 35.
