Gheorghe Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Very interesting to read ! I saw the Arkestra with Marshall Allen just maybe 3 years ago, with Knoel Scott and Tara Middleton, just wonderful. My Marshall Allen live 1000 years ! Of course I also had seen the original Sun Ra Arkestra. I was a fan of Sun Ra and his band from outer space almost as long as I have fallen in love with that music called jazz. One of my very first LPs was "Nothing Is". Quote
sidewinder Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Last time I saw Marshall Allen was nearly 35 years ago and based on age he could have been drawing his pension even then. His playing dismissed such notions though - fiery and aggressive. No pipe and slippers for this guy ! Quote
