GA Russell Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 OK, all you computer gurus! I have been using a Black Friday Special from five years ago, a Motorola moto e5. I'm ready for something better. I don't use it very often. Access to the internet would be nice. Mostly I just want something that works. My current phone often fails to connect to an incoming call when I swipe, and always changes screens to a default when I don't want it to. Any suggestions for less than $200? Thanks! Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted December 28, 2024 Report Posted December 28, 2024 Your best bet is to buy one through your cell phone provider or, if you don't have one, sign up for one that gives you a free phone. There are not many good phones for under $200, unless you shop the used market on ebay. Quote
GA Russell Posted December 29, 2024 Author Report Posted December 29, 2024 Thanks Kevin! I'm going to do what you say, and shop around comparing the phones the companies are promoting. Quote
Coda Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 You can often find good deals at a no name phone repair store in your area. Quote
GA Russell Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago I found it all pretty confusing, but I selected a Motorola Moto G Power 5G. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CT6BQV81 Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago My bank offers "rewards" on their credit card. My last two iPhones were bought using Apple gift cards that I "purchased" using these rewards. So basically, I've been getting a new iPhone every few years for free. If your credit card company has a rewards plan, check to see what gift cards they offer. Typically, you get "more bang for your buck" choosing gift cards over using them as a credit to your account.
