enjoying this recent JIB release (#4 from the contemporary Jazz Now series)

The Dark Days Quartet (named after a James Baldwin text of essays) perform James Baldwin inspired improv & composed material

Pat Thomas from the group "Ahmed" on ivories with Cleveland Watkiss on loops & recitation/vocals (extracts from the Baldwin essays).

Neil Charles (b) leads the quartet & also has composer credits plus Mark Sanders on drums

Recorded live at Cafe Oto last October (2024)
