LF: Some Sidney Bechet Masters of Jazz CDs

I was disappointed to find that all of the Masters of Jazz CDs are oop just as I was becoming interested in Bechet. I think the French company that released them went out of business. (Perhaps they could not compete with the company that releases the Chronological Classics.)

In any case, can anyone offer me leads on obtaining vols. 1, 2, 4, 6-8 of the Sidney Bechet Masters of Jazz CDs? I am looking for these volumes with both the CDs and inserts in excellent condition.

Looks as if these can still be purchased through the amazon.fr site, they still show a good number of these as "available in one or two days". . . . I must admit that I have had success ordering a Charlie Christian Master of Jazz from them after the label went out of business.

Try doing a search for "Masters of Jazz Sidney Bechet" . . . .

Thanks. I just checked the Amazon.fr site. A couple of the ones I want are available. But the prices are rather high (almost 20 euros per disc), and with the unfavorable exchange rate and shipping, I think I will try to get these through other means.

Not long ago, this place had a reasonably good stock of used Masters of Jazz CDs at about 10 Euros a pop. I don't know what is left.

There is another place right on Place St. Michel in Paris that was selling Masters of Jazz CDs dirt cheap a few years ago. Brownie must know the place.

Sure I know that place. Place St. Michel is my neighborhood. Where do you think I bought many of the Masters of Jazz CDs that are in my collection now

Unfortunately, their stock of MofJ ran slowly out. They have very few of those left.

I e-mailed Bol on another possibility of getting some of those Bechets.
