  1. So, What Are You Listening To NOW?

Good LP. a little bigger group ---> these are here
  2. Your Favorite Jazz Records of the 1980s?

Well I dont read it that way from the backside. "digitally remixed" is that rechanneled mono indeed like many of Kentons Creative World series? I doubt it. Thre is no Info in the liner notes that the original was mono. Correct is that it is an analogue master from 1984 Please explain. Thanks Addendum: Have 583 Items between 1980 and 1990. I think the 1950s & 1960s were the best years for jazz.

  5. What vinyl are you spinning right now??

Re: Charlie Mariano When Fresh Sound Records started their business it was in the beginning with rare US and small labels. At that btime I bought a lot of these relpica editions. After they turned to issue CD's some of these early vinyls appeared again on CDs but not all. I think this in one of those not on CD's.

  9. So, What Are You Listening To NOW?

Yep - started my collection in the 1950s with Stan. Not much missing today of Stan in my stock except his very late "bombastic" recordings when he started his "neophonic" thing with the mellophones. Then he lost me. Great recordings the "Contemporary Concepts" & the Russo/ Holman vinyls & his "Kenton presents with Pepper on Capitol + " Those Kenton Days to name some favorites. Even his dancable vinyls "Standards" & " Portraits" are fine.

  11. So, What Are You Listening To NOW?

Intresting question. Have to check that with my recent Rearward / Schema CDs against the 2 Campi boxes. Will be a bit of work. Well it was easy. Except "Off Limits" (Rearward 115 CD) which is also on on the box Blowing the Cobwebs out I have not found any other tracks on CD's. Have on Rearward / Schema CD 105 (with Carl Drewo / CD 119 Shib Shihab / CD 123 Johnny Griffin / CD 125 Swing, Waltz with Carl Drewo. These CD tracks are not on the boxes. "Out Of The Folk Bag" is missing here Almost all my other KC-FB are on vinyl + on some CD compilations (MPS/Universal)

Re: The Campi years plus the other box !
  13. I am interested in finding a listing of those labels . Thanks
  14. Thanks Anthony for that link. BTW I am too on Jim Harrods list for quite a while. There was an hot discussion at Discogs about the topic "has Albert Marx created a new [combined] label TREND/DISCOVERY" or not? The question is still not solved. Its documented IMHO on his reissues only on the center labels. and on his catalog. But the "knowallandeverything" major egos ruled it down without any research. I think the opposite is the truth. My request to Jim brought no results.
  15. Are there members familiar with this topic or part of it. I am doing a research because I have several reissues. There is not much Info found on the net whether Trend/Discovery is a new label created by Albert Marx. The rimtext of these reissues has this combined print but the covers have either Discovery or Trend as label. Thanks
