What is your favorite recording of BL? I like everything he recorded but I have a special weakness to his recordings with Max Roach and to *Booker Little and Friend*. This evening I'll listen to it. sidewinder Posted April 2, 2005 Report Share Posted April 2, 2005 I like pretty well everything that he did but for me pride of place has to go to the Candid 'Out Front' and the 'Time' quartet (re-issued on Island as 'The Legendary Quartet Album'). Those two are desert island recordings, IMO. I think Booker was right on the cusp of greatness at the time he tragically passed on. Free For All Posted April 3, 2005 Report Share Posted April 3, 2005 This one is a favorite Booker appearance for sure. Woody Shaw seems to have been influenced to no small degree by Booker Little.
