johnagrandy
http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=20807 Now this is a trip (not just because I'm Norwegian) but because I used to own everything but totally lost track of Terje about 10 years ago. Any Terje fans out there ?

7/4
I always dug the trio with DeJohnette and Vitous, and the groups with Mikkelborg. The Chasers with fretless bass. Yum. Edited March 13, 2006 by 7/

Guest akanalog
i really like a lot of his less high note-ey sustain-ey impressionistic ECM albums from the late 60s and the 70s. some great sideman appearances too, with guys like garbarek and surman and barre phillips. a lot of the live material i have heard from the 70s is more aggressive than the ECM albums and is good stuff too. but albums like "odyssey" and "what comes after" are sweet. i like "waves" a bit also. but albums like "after the rain" and "descendre" and the dejohnette/vituous albums can get a bit too diffuse for me though "descendre" has some nice stuff on it. i am trying to get into "whenever i seem to be far away" and it's not totally happening for me yet, though rypdal's tone blends excellently with classical orchestral instrumentation. i wish ECM would re-release "odyssey" as a two-discer. i can't believe they pulled that garbage.
