  4. there is a ton of pre-Decca stuff that Decca owned for years and that came out sporadically on LP (of which I have most) - there was a jug band CD, and another of old 20s and 30s black bands - I have this stuff, and the sound is the most amazing of ANYTHING I have heard of that vintage (you feel like you are in the room with these guys who are recording 60-80 years ago) - it is fantastic stuff, and there was probably tons more never released, on metal masters and god-knows-what, that we will now never hear in this kind of fidelity (another incredible one is the Bunny Berigan session from the 1930s) - there were Brunswicks they put out and other stuff, who-knows-what, now we will never know - to hear some of this stuff is to ride in a time machine. But now its over and gone - we will never get the unreleased stuff, as a matter of fact they probably didn't even know what they had - not to mention some glorious Armstrong, Fletcher Henderson, King Oliver, Joe Turner, Mildred Bailey, Chick Webb, Stuff Smith, Duke Ellington - a lot of which was put out only in horrible stereo with reverb - so save whatever LPs you have. It's like finding cave paintings that are then destroyed by a flood -
  5. check out the latest Paris Hilton sex video - her partner looks an awful lot like Goldberg -

  11. are there Earl Hines fans here (other than me)? It's funny, because as I was just getting ready to sell some CDs, I thought, I have NEVER been able to sell a Hines CD on Organissimo - glad there's a few Hinesians speaking up - he's probably my favorite pianist next to Bud Powell-
  12. than I'll have to say that we'll have to agree to disagree - about whatever it is we're talking about -
  13. strangest thing is that he was driving a 1997 car - newer ones, which I hope he can afford, are much safer -
  14. well, remember, please, that he did not just report the populace's belief that the revolution was a Jewish terrorist action, but he BELIEVED this himself - and there is much more in that history of the Jews that is quite offensive, apparently -
  15. sorry - it's just that in the past I have sometimes shipped in soft cases; after one disaster (the post office mutilated something) I no longer do this -
  16. guys - let us please not forget that: 1) he wrote a rather nasty history of the Jews in Russia, that, among other anti-semitic observations, noted approvingly that "the population of Russia, as a whole, regarded the new [revolutionary] terror as a Jewish terror" 2) he was A Reaganite who regarded the anti-Vietnam war movement as traitorous - admire his writing, fine, but do not whitewash his far-right beliefs -
