  1. Maybe some of those soldiers logged on?
  2. Does this mean I should delete my posts?
  3. Don't exaggerate--$44 (unless you combine it with something else, in which case it will be even less).
  4. I like it a lot. FWIW, I got it from Mosaic about a month and a half ago, and my set is number 4323. I know they don't sell the Selects in exact sequential order (unlike the big boxes), but my understanding is that they get their Select stock in prenumbered batches that are generally sequential. If that's true, this one could go OOP pretty quickly.
  5. they sent me this set to review and I told them the cover looked silly. little did I know they'd just scissor the poor guy out. ← Well, that's what Pepper gets for trying to distract Donald while he's soloing.
  6. And of course, although not originally Blue Note recordings, another great Blue Note 2-CD issue:
  7. Not part of the "Doubletime" series (like some of the others previously mentioned), but another Blue Note double-CD still in print is this Conn that I highly recommend:
  8. Bob Brookmeyer Select, all 3 discs:
  9. Add my thanks for the heads-up to everyone else's, BbM7. With these prices, we're all willing to be patient and/or risk a few cancellations, recognizing that J&R is a large, established outfit and isn't about to take our money and run.
  10. Actually, Jim, what you said makes sense--especially when the covers of the other current "duo" Mosaics (Farmer/Golson, Venuti/Lang, Prima/Manone, Lee/Christy) are taken into account. In fact, on the Prima/Manone, they even used separate photos of the 2 and split the cover between them. Damn, now you have ME thinking about this on a Saturday afternoon.
  11. I think you need to find something better to think about on Saturday afternoons.
  12. Damn. Another one to add to the list.
  13. This wasn't on my radar screen, but I take it you think it should be.
  14. Four Freshmen or Mildred Bailey? Actually, the obvious guesses for me would be the Johnson or the Mobley. But then again, I never would have guessed Byrd/Adams two weeks ago, so what do I know?
  15. Nope--went straight to "Last Chance." I check the site pretty much every day, and was surprised last Thursday to suddenly find this in "Last Chance."
  16. I've been cheered by the responses so far, I'll say that much. ← I think it's fair to say that the Family Jewels remain safe . . . . at least for now.
  17. Actually, it went from "Last Chance" (a higher level of alert than "Running Low") to sold out in eight days, FWIW, but it still went relatively quickly. ← From my Father's Day email from Mosaid of only two days ago: "RUNNING LOW/LAST CHANCE We have just added The Complete Blue Note Donald Byrd/Pepper Adams Studio Sessions to our Running Low category. " ← Then you missed this thread I started eight days ago when I first noticed the Byrd/Adams set in the "Last Chance" category on Mosaic's site (I try to check it daily).
  18. Does this mean Jim gets to keep his nuts?
  19. Hans, Hank--what's the difference??? ---------------- Rob ( )
  20. Watch out for those double negatives, man--they're a slippery slope that'll have ya' doin' all sortsa' crazy things.
  21. Hey Allen, wasn't that nonexistent Nat King Cole Mosaic you were selling from under your bed a few months ago also $900? What are you running there, some kind of prix fixe operation???
  22. Yeah, sure, you lowball the price, but how much is the S&H???
  23. Actually, it went from "Last Chance" (a higher level of alert than "Running Low") to sold out in eight days, FWIW, but it still went relatively quickly.
  24. That was really fast. Hope everyone here pulled the trigger in time! ← And to think that some people (we won't embarrass tranemonk by mentioning him specifically) actually thought that they could wait until this weekend to order.
