  4. Dude, stop thinking so regionally, and start thinking . . . NATIONAL TOURS.
  5. It's ok, guys-- we're the home of Lilly the inventer of the granddaddy SSRI, Prozac. It's good for bizness. That's the way I feel about the Philly area, home (loosely speaking) to most of the rest of the pharmaceutical industry.
  6. Congrats, Chris! I'm looking forward to seeing you in Philly--and don't worry, I'll bring the Prozac.

  8. . . . or in the case of a Verve box, all of the above.
  9. Looks like you should feel right at home in Philly, Chris.
  10. But on WHICH list???
  11. Maybe this just proves the old adage that "ignorance is bliss."

  13. Shows how much YOU know--the BOX is 90% of the cost of each set.

  15. Yes, but the bottom line is, Michael is unconvinced of the sales potential of a full Mosaic box. Going with the smaller, less costly Select approach will minimize the risk of a full set that doesn't sell. Hey, and what about sales on a 10 CD Mildred Bailey or a 9 CD Four Freshmen box? Experience is the best teacher?
  16. Brad, you missed my last message from Michael, which I relayed in another thread. He made it pretty clear to me that the three Select concept is going to be a go. This may have been asked and answered before , but why 3 selects instead of a single big box?
  17. No phone number, but a follow-up email to "Claire" usually does the trick if there's no response to the first one (they usually respond within 24 hours). I've always had good experiences with their cusotmer service, even if it occasionally takes an extra nudge or two.
  18. Lookin' SWEET! B-)
  19. The Mosaic site now says about this set: "This set is expected to be released Friday, April 29th." Unusually specific.
  20. Actually, they really aren't. The discs--and the booklet--in the Universal set (at least in mine) say "Mosaic" all over them, indicate they are made in the U.S., and appear in all ways to be Mosaic products (except that "Mosaic" does not appear on the outside of the box). It appears that ALL of these sets--Mosaic and Universal--were manufactured by Mosaic, and some portion of the 10,000 to be issued are merely being distributed by Universal. Also, all indications are that the Universal sets sold in the US are perfectly legal and are being distributed in conformity with any distribution agreement Mosaic has with Universal. And if they are not, Mosaic should say so. And I agree with Michael Fitzgerald that this is a manufacturer's (whoever that may be) problem.
  21. Nor mine (also purchased from Caiman), as I said above. But it's apparently on enough copies of this disc--purchased from Caiman and other merchants--that the company that produced/manufactured them should replace the defective discs, IMO.
  22. Aaaaaaaah, but Lonson my friend, always remember, it is better for stereo equipment to LOOK good than to sound good!
  23. Hmmm . . . based on aesthetics, only, I think I prefer the Victrola--unless you're into that 2001 Monolith kinda look:

  25. Finally got that Victrola to play your oldest 78's?
