  7. Now listening to the new Geoffrey Smith's Jazz. Sound stuff, though noticeably less adventurous than Shipton's new show. I guess the audience research wonks have decided to leave Geoffrey with the old guard. Mind you, most of them will be tucked up in bed at the broadcast hour and many won't have computers for listening in the following days. So - a show ready for the kill off, as I think you remarked, Bev.

  10. I remember those - they were often in the £1.99 bargain/deletion bins. I seem to remember the franc was about 13 to the pound at the time, so I did OK! Wonderful album, which I believe was issued in the U.S. as Mirage. On mine all the tunes are listed as Blakey compositions, which they clearly aren't. A bit of research came up with the far more convincing Gryce, plus some by Draper. There was a Ray Draper who played tuba, but would this have been him?
