  14. Was at my usual North Manchester venue on Sunday afternoon to see the Gerry Tomlinson Trio with trombonists Lee Hallam and Duncan Winfield playing Jay and Kai arrangements. Very listenable stuff!

  17. It's been so long since this thread popped up that I'd forgotten all the things I'd seen. So here goes with a second bite of the cherry. Saw this with a Newcastle friend at the Laing Art Gallery. It's shortly to be unleashed on London.   23. Great to see that Hawkins album again! Last saw it in the 60s and remember it as good.
  24. WKCR is a great favorite, particularly for those marathons dedicated to a single artist.
  25. While we're on piano blues, in "Pinetop's Blues" IIRC Pinetop Smith sings "Going down on State Street, get me a gallon o' booze".
