    Anyone familiar with quality and condition of the used CDs sold at this shop. I see a set they have for sale on-line. I called the shop in Chicago to inquire about condition of the discs and was told that CDs are not graded but are returnable if “not playable” 

     

    My question is: are the used discs they sell pristine mint copies?

    Just pulled a CD from the shelf called Marty Paich and His Jazz Piano Quartet Plays “Take Me Along” filled with a lot of throwaway tunes from a Broadway musical I never heard of,but somehow I acquired this CD awhile back. 

    I noticed that among Marty, Pete Jolly and Jimmy Rowles, there’s a pianist identified as John Williams. Anyone know if this is the same John Williams of Boston Pops fame? If so, was he on any other jazz or quasi- jazz recordings?

    Has there been a complete Mosaic-like anthology of Lionel Hampton’s Decca/ Coral recordings issued on CD? I am enjoying the 2CD “Hamp” Legenadry Decca Recordings issued in 1996 but it looks like it is not a complete treatment of his Decca/Coral output.

  21. Missing CD

     I purchased a rare CD for sale on Amazon over the holidays from a a third-party seller located in NY/NJ but it appears that the CD may never have been mailed based on the sellers’s response to my email. 

    Amazon tracking indicates that since January 1st the “package has left seller’s facility and is in transit to carrier”  In response to an email inquiry as to where the CD is as there has been NO movement since the order wa placed , the seller initially responded that the CD “shipped and is currently in transit” and then responded to me that “most mail does not show much recent movement around the holidays” and that the CD “was picked up by NYC mail carrier”  with no further explanation. USPS  Track and confirm does not show any activity since the order was placed.

    Has anyone heard of this before ? I have a feeling this may be have been an Amazon scam.

    Bought Eddie Chamblee Rockin Tenor sax of Eddie Chamblee CD on Amazon from seller in Japan. After waiting two months the CD never showed up.

     

    I spent $30.00 for the disc and still want to obtain a copy.

    Anyone on the board have a copy they would like to sell or know of a copy for sale besides what is listed on Amazon.

  25. Ella Fitzgerald CDs

    Looking for a clean mint copy of the following Ella CDs.

    I know they are readily available on Amazon, eBay etc as Japanese/Fresh Sound imports I would like to replace what I had with regular Polygram-Universal retail issues as opposed to record club, MOD copies. Please let me know if anyone has a copy they'd like to sell. Thanks.
