  1. I'm not surprised. I think it is a much better record. Some people like apples, some people like oranges, and some people like both. Would you like me to remind you of that next time you post an opinion? I like both, I think the Hemphill is better. Different kinds of apple. For whatever reason, sales reflect this. I don't mind that people use this board to push their stuff, but I do mind if their presence suppresses any interesting discussion.
  2. When the huge Columbia Miles Davis box came, the London Fopp broke up the boxes and sold all the individual/double CDs. I have some hope they might do the same with this one. That said, I am quite surprised how many of these I don't have... but I've given up collecting... so...er...
  3. I'm not surprised. I think it is a much better record.
  4. Well, records only cost pocket money, and its a declining industry, so it's not really worth arguing about. Until next time of course.
  5. Close it what's wrong with the other one!!!!!!!
  6. Somebody close this thread we don't need two!
  7. Back to the Jack Daniels and the swag bag.
  8. Does this reasoning apply to PD issues in the US?
  9. Jim, we get your point. You are saying, since you can steal it, why pay for CDs or downloads. Carry on. That has no bearing on the legality of our situation in Europe, which is all we are discussing here, not what you call its 'legitimacy' (i.e. what you personally think fair). You think it legitimate to steal from copyright holders in your country (you may have explained why, but I lost it). Go ahead. And maybe you genuinely believe that to do so is fair, though not legal. The copyright holders, as we all know, are usually major labels who bought up catalogues for peanuts when the original owners fell on hard times or died. I suspect that most people stealing this music via illegal downloads or trading know that and justify it to themselves for that reason rather than any other. Fresh Sounds have issued over 300 new recordings in the last ten years. I'm not sure how much new work illegal downloading funds.
  10. Incidentally, PD is 50 years in Japan too. Bears some reflection, that.
