I have the 2014 Blue Note TYCJ-81075 reissue. The saw solo is there, loud and proud. I'm not a fan, but I agree with the originalists here. I especially dislike the echo effect, although the end result makes it sound like whales, whom I do like.

Thanks for clearing that up. But I do see her name as one of the composers for “what are you doing the rest of your life.” It must be a mistake on the lp. I know Michel Legrand and Allen Bergman are the composers. Maybe she had something to do with the writing of that tune as well.

You mean "the Bergmans", of course.

Marilyn Bergman was an Oscar, Emmy & Grammy-winning lyricist, not a composer. She and her husband Alan collaborated with Marvin Hamlisch ("The Way We Were"), Lew Spence ("Nice 'n' Easy"), Quincy Jones ("In the Heat of the Night"), Michel Legrand ("The Windmills of Your Mind") and many others. "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" was composed by Legrand, with lyrics by the Bergmans.

Hey guys, it's 5 days into the new year and we are woefully behind in our annual donations. If you're a member, give. If you post every day (or more), give some more. Thanks for your consideration.

Its Happy New Year, and I wish you well in 2022.

Betty White has left us just a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday. I liked so much about her - her comedic sense, her good-natured personality and her love and advocacy of animal rights, to name a few. Rest easy Ms. White, and thank you.

Thank you, Ken, and best wishes for the New Year.

John Madden, a legendary figure known to one generation as a Hall of Fame coach, another generation as the sport’s greatest announcer, and yet another generation for the video game that bears his name, has died at the age of 85.
The NFL announced Madden’s passing today.
Madden’s influence on the sport of football is impossible to overstate. He was the youngest head coach in pro football when Al Davis hired him to coach the Oakland Raiders, and he led them to a Super Bowl title while having so much success that he still has the all-time highest winning percentage among all coaches who won at least 100 games.

I don't think any songs "need to be rested". Unimaginative arrangements and performances of standards should be banned, however.

Well, the article does mention that "Jonathan Lamb described his father's Covid infection as "a spiritual attack from the enemy" to "take down" Marcus Lamb."

Have all the photos in the "licensing" section of the mosaicimages website been published?
From Mosaic: Over 2500 black and white and 300 color photographs by Francis Wolff have been scanned and now are on display on our website and available to license. Many of these photos remain unpublished.

NBC News reports: Anti-vaccine Christian broadcaster Marcus Lamb dies at 64 after contracting Covid…In recent months, a number of prominent anti-vaccination Christian broadcasters have died from Covid-19. Conservative radio hosts Dick Farrell, Phil Valentine and Marc Bernier, who were unvaccinated, all died after they contracted Covid.

According to Wiki: "The Epoch Times is a far-right international multi-language newspaper and media company affiliated with the Falun Gong new religious movement." You really should check your sources before you post this bullshit. Remember your post from a racist source two weeks ago? Better yet, why not avoid sharing political material altogether.
