Don't knock the Cap'n.......you can never have too much of the Cap'n around. Are the re-mastered editions out in Japan? I need 'em all w/obis!

I had my 4 Advent Large(s) (purchased in '79) re-foamed in '98 or so. All those years of Black Flag, Blue Oyster Cult, Suicidal Tendencies and the Angry Samoans put a major hurt on them. Kevin's $45 a pop sounds about right.

Oh Conn, you incorrigible gossip!!!! (what time????) Happy , Erik!

I'd like to see them release Blue Mitchell's 'Bring It Home to Me' as a Conn. That's one nice record....but only available here as a Liberty era pressing or as a part of the Mosaic. I'd like to know why the folks at Toshiba never did anything with it? Any idea, Kevin? Edit: Someone's bound to 'catch me' on the vinyl bit. Forgot to mention the mono original (4228). I've got the Liberty stereo.

Looking for some advice
Son-of-a-Weizen replied to jazzmusicdepot's topic in Offering and Looking For...
JazzMusic, Did a quick walkthrough and have a few suggestions. Add in something about your shipping rates & methods to the Service and/or Policies sections located upper right (personally, I'd give folks a media mail or First Class option). I'd also offer folks the opportunity to go back into their order and add an additional item once they've submitted it (within a reasonable period of time, that is). A hundred times over I've clicked 'Submit Order' ---- and then, 3 hours later, smacked myself in the head for forgetting CD 'X'. I tend to haunt those sites that allow me to zip right back into the order and add in the extra item or two............................................................or eight. -

Yes, a member of 'Kelly' Johnson's design team and the Reconnaissance System Officer (RSO) on a Jan. '68 run. Not a pilot. Can you imagine the thrill? http://www.wvi.com/~sr71webmaster/Supp_BBook.htm -
I really don't maintain a list because 90% of it is already here. When I'm feelin' the 'itch' I just run an 180 day search of "Re-issues' and scan the 'News from Hiroshi Tanno' threads for my next victims.

Um, no such luck for you, amigo. You'll only be permitted to touch my ceramic caps. -

You'll have to buy me a beer at the Gösser Bierklinik before I let you touch it. -

I wish he'd come back so that I can post a pic of my new SR-71 shirt (black, of course) with my uncle's name (he flew one) hand-embroidered on 'er. I know* RC would like that. * unless of course he was always faking interest in the SR-71? Naa, couldn't be. -
I'm pretty happy with the 5-lp "The Great Prestige Recordings" box that Analogue Productions released in the late 90's, but I'm a sucker for a new cd box, particularly one containing a bonus disc. Re: Hoffman -- I've been quite pleased with the sound of the Miles XRCDs and hadn't thought about investing in the DCC versions -- until, that is, a few days ago when I heard his Evans 'Interplay' re-mastering. Woah!! I might need to saddle up and start tracking down some of those Miles (and Evans) ones.

Washington DC advice....

Basically a low key little residential area (w/well maintained 00's-20's townhouses) that's bordered by the State Dept., GWU (George Washington U), Georgetown and the Kennedy Center. Not a bad place to walk around....quick access to Georgetown ....10 blocks to the White House and so. It's not an area that's packed with accomodations and I can't tell you anything about the handful of hotels and/or guest quarters that are located there....but I'd recommend it. -

You should stock up on some. I mean, anything to replace those fifths of 70's 'vintage' Black Velvet you keep trying to pawn off on the guests. -

Good God!! You were sent out to Telegraph Road?? Who did you piss off to get sent out there?? Solzenhitsyn said he'd rather get dropped back into a labor camp in the permafrost belt that go out there!! Catesta would wander out there and they'd find his bleached bones lying in the woods 6 months later!! Poor lad....no food...no water....bears got him. * * I drop the kids at piano lessons once a week a mile up from that House-o-chow.
