  1. El Padrino de me tierra Anejo Intense, Caramel, Oak, Lengthy Mexico- Only 100% Blue Agave is used in this anejo tequila. Brick ovens roast the agave for 36-54 hours allowing the tequila to retain the sweet natural mellow flavor. Slow fermented 48-60 hours and then distilled in copper pot stills for a rich taste with notes of caramel and oak. Finished the bottle last night, will have to get another!
  2. This is pretty rare! (Well, not any more, it's on Youtube). Barbara with Emily Remler and Sonny Fortune! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGVXr4Ji49o
  3. These ladies can groove! Good drummer, too. Barbara gives a little biographical info early in the clip. Hate to work on their road crew, though. Those things look heavy. RHODA SCOTT & BARBARA DENNERLEIN together on stage ORGAN SUMMIT 2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQUCtvt7_9A
  4. Mighty Leaf Green Tea Tropical: I found this a bit too fruity, so I blended it 1 to 2 with Prince of Peace green tea bags. .
  5. Kapchorua Kenya Green Tea, over ice.
  6. I tried Stone's Oaked Arrogant Bastard last night. It is undoubtedly a premier example of it's style, American Strong Ale. The BA Bros gave it a top rating of 100, World Class. It's arrogance is evident in the aggressive hop profile that refuses to yield to the dark roasted malt. That said, it is not my favorite style. I'm sure it's better on tap, too. And there are few to none widely distributed American Strong Ales in direct competition with it. The only ones I know of are Mendocino's Eye of the Hawk and Buffalo Bill's Tasmanian Devil, both of which are pretty good, and better bang for the buck, though only recently available in my area. I paid $10.49 for a 4-pack of O.A.B., about $2.63 per 12 oz bottle. The Taz is $11 a 6-pk, or $1.83 per bottle. At $8 a 6-pk and 8% ABV versus the Oaked Bastard's 7.2 %, Mendocino's Eye of the Hawk is the real bargain if American Strong Ale is your desired flavor. But get the Stone's if budget is not a concern and you want the best in it's class.
  7. Incredible (said with a French accent)!
  8. I was able to procure a 4-pack of the Oaked Bastard! However, since it's still at room temp, I am enjoying a Saranac Black Bear Bock from the Winter Sampler pack a friend gifted me with. It is pretty good. Malty, not hoppy, which is my general preference.
  9. I'm a big fan of Arrogant Bastard. (You are what you drink, I guess). Is the oaked version very different? Do you like it better? this is one of the very few extreme brews that are wonderfully drinkable. the soft oak aging battles it out with the bitter hops. i immediately asked for another on tap, this is irresistable I have yet to try Arrogant Bastard, Oaked or un-Oaked, but I will seek it out based on your recommendation! Right now, I am in my office, so I am drinking filtered H-2-0 with frozen chunks of H-2-0.
  10. Haven't seen any Fat Head's in my area, but I have recently enjoyed an Ass Kisser.
  11. Old Dominion Cherry Blossom Lager
  12. It could be worse, she could have Inspector Clouseau syndrome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dphayJDCzog
  13. A friend of mine loves the Leffe blonde, it's his default beer. It's just o.k. by me, not my favorite flavor. FWIW, the Beer Advocate Bros. gave it a low rating of 66 (poor). It's probably not the premium example of the style. In contrast, BA bros. gave Orval Trappist a world-class 100, but I have yet to try that. I would like to try the Leffe Brune, though. I would probably like it better.
  14. I recently tried Long Trail's Belgian White, from a bottle. My review is: Feh! And this coming from a guy who in the same post admits to drinking Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi!!!!! Try the Long Trail Belgian White and get back to me with your impression. Witbier is not my preferred style, but i much prefer Flying Dog's Woody Creek White to the Long Trail in that style. I'm sure LT makes other styles I would enjoy more. And it's Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry, not Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi. Sheesh!
  15. Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry I recently tried Long Trail's Belgian White, from a bottle. My review is: Feh!
  16. Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee
  17. He was obviously an energetic and intelligent guy who contributed much more than his share to the human race. Quite a loss for Grenada, especially. He must have really loved chocolate!
  18. Tried my first Barking Squirrel last night. It's a smooth amber lager, more nutty malt than hop presence. it has more bark than bite.
  19. The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory [Paperback] Brian Greene (Author) Brian Greene is an excellent science author. He's a darn good explainer.
  20. Even Gevalia comes in K-cups now! I don't use K-cups, but I do love Gevalia.
  21. Three Heavy Seas last night... Arrr, tasty brews, matey! I was feeling a little seasick by bedtime, though.
  22. I'm a friend of George D, but I've never tried the Rye. How do you like it?
  23. Uinta Sum'r Summer Ale: Easy drinking 4.0% is nice for the warm weather. Good but not one of my favorite summer ales. Though as with any of the craft brew summer beers, if it was the only other thing in the cooler, I would gladly pick it over any of the U.S. macrobrews.
  24. They may also have a law against "boning" in public.
