  1. This one has some bad reviews, but I'll see how far I can get with it. The topic is timely, but his treatment is dated.
  2. This is not a pumpkin spiced cider*. This is a cider born from real pumpkins. When that natural pumpkin character is balanced against a crisp apple backdrop, the resulting cider is truly one of a kind. Regulations in Pennsylvania and Tennessee restrict us from selling the 6.9% ABV Pumpkin Cider in those states. The dedicated fans of Woodchuck in both states have contacted us via phone, email, and Facebook, with each communication essentially saying: We want Pumpkin! Woodchuck is happy to announce our Cider Makers have crafted two separate small batches for 2012. One at 6.9% ABV – and another at 5.5% ABV. Pennsylvania and Tennessee rejoice! Private Reserve Pumpkin is crafted to be served at 45 degrees. It pairs excellently with roasted duck, turkey, or squash ravioli. As a night cap, try with crème brûlée or fresh cheesecake. It is hitting store shelves as you read this. Now in its third year, this cider has a serious following. It sells out quick, and only so much is made. This is a tasty cider. Glad I got a couple of six-packs of the 6.9 %!
  3. NARWHAL® IMPERIAL STOUT A malt-forward monster, highlighting the depths of malt flavor. Narwhal Imperial Stout is inspired by the mysterious creature that thrives in the deepest fathoms of the frigid Arctic Ocean. Featuring incredible depth of malt flavor, rich with notes of espresso, baker’s cocoa, roasted grain and a light hint of smoke, Narwhal is a massive malt-forward monster. Aggressive but refined with a velvety smooth body and decadent finish, Narwhal will age in the bottle for years to come. Quite a counterpoint to their Bigfoot Barleywine.
  4. I wouldn't doubt that someone will still find cause to be offended by this, but I think it's a good idea. It's just a goddamned potato, get over it! PETA took the high road, the Onion took the low road. The very low road.
  5. Winner! Can't wait to see the new team logo!
  6. Realistically, though, Snyder should announce the name is going to change and let the fans offer suggestions and vote on it. Change the name, change the logo. Then they can sell all new branded merchandise!
  7. Ha-ha, how about the Washington Treaty-breakers?
  8. The fans will probably like that better than my next suggestion, the Washington Buttplugs.
  9. that would piss off the white anglo saxon protestants in Washington.... Yes, I'd stick with something safer like the Washington Maggots, Lice, or Greenflies.
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins The team originated as the Boston Braves, based in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1932. At the time the team played in Braves Field, home of the Boston Braves baseball team. The following year the club moved to Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, whereupon owners changed the team's name to the Boston Redskins. I guess the name was originally intended to play off of Red Sox and the original name of Braves. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braves_Field Nicknamed The Wigwam by fans, Braves Field was also known as The Bee Hive (or National League Park, formally) from 1936–1941, a period during which the owners changed the nickname of the team to the Boston Bees (the renaming of the team and stadium never took hold with the public, and were both eventually dropped). It did host the Major League Baseball All-Star Game during that span in 1936, however. Braves Field served as one of two homes (with Fenway Park) of the Boston Bulldogs of the first American Football League (in 1926) and the Boston Shamrocks of the second AFL (in 1936 and 1937). It was also the home of a National Football League franchise which began in 1932 and also called itself the Boston Braves for one year. The next year, the team moved to Fenway Park and changed its name to the Redskins (which served the dual purpose of sounding like "Red Sox" and allowing the team to retain its Native American-logoed Braves uniforms). In 1937 the team transferred south to become the Washington Redskins. With its capacity to hold more fans than Fenway, Braves Field was actually used by the Red Sox in the 1915 and 1916 World Series.
  11. Washington D.C. doesn't have a significant Native American population, so this is not a relevant equivalence, sorry. Do you think the name should be changed to better reflect D.C.s racial composition? That's a minefield I would not recommend entering.
  12. Do two wrongs make a right? I guess so. Two eyes for an eye! A friend of mine used to call them the Deadskins when they had the oldest average player age. They should make that the new name, and change the logo to a skull or a zombie. Or how about the Washington Gridlocks? Filibusters? Lobbyists?
  13. Shipyard Brewery Smashed Pumpkin Ale
  14. Deception Point [Kindle Edition] Dan Brown (Author) I'm actually reading a paperback copy someone gave me.
  15. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout by Alltech’s Lexington Brewing Company I'll try just about any beer aged in bourbon barrels.
  16. Probably in 1974, from Third Street Music cutout rack. Wore the grooves out. Scott Yanow of Allmusic stated, "the quintet casts new light on these tunes, making them sound fresh and flexible. This unusual set is recommended to longtime followers of Art Blakey".

  18. Might have been this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1XVxb3mmWc or this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKIQSo7JbKQ
  19. Finally got to try the Southern Tier Warlock, purchased from Yankee Spirits in Attleboro, MA. It is quite a tasty brew! I only regret that I didn't have enough room left in my car to buy more.
  20. Always a concern, but luckily I am travelling with a tea-totaling friend who can take the wheel if I'm seeing double.
  21. A great site to use to hunt things down. Not knowing what part of Delaware you're in and just how much you want it....there are 3 places under 80 miles from Delaware have it listed as of today. Keep in mind it's not perfect. Call first before doing any driving. http://www.beermenus.com/ This one is in Philly. It claims it has the WWS, 120, Warlock, and even a Cigar City and some other to hard to find stuff. . http://www.moorebeverage.com/ Thanks for the tips, BT! However, I'm heading off to Acadia, shutdown or not, so I'll be looking to sample some Maine beers that are unavailable here. I will pick up the Warlock if I see it, though. Total Wine in Delaware re-stocked with Pumking, but it looks like they are not carrying Warlock.
  22. I've heard great things about the Warlock, but haven't been able to find it yet.
  23. and four "Doors".
