I did wash it one time. Maybe I should try that again. But I am afraid it’s in the grooves…
Thats a lovely album by Hannibal. The choir really ads something like it did with Max Roach records as well.
Yes, it is really good.
Looking again and I think that's pressing faults on the Clark.
I'm really enjoying your old copy of Archie Shepp at the moment!

Probably my favorite Clark. Lovely Japanese issue but I forgot it has an issue on side A. Anyone around here knows what this is? If you take a close look you see small white spots on the vinyl. Unfortunately they are hearable as small glitches in the sound. They do ruin the listening a experience a little…
They might be a pressing fault. Are they raised? If so might be worth very gently seeing if they're just something stuck on. I've had success removing such detritus a few times but it's not normally as much as I think I see in your photo.
I'm now playing 'The Angels of Atlanta' because you mentioned it elsewhere. What a great album

Speaking of Braxton... Does anyone have a copy of Tristano box set? If yes, what do you think?
That's the one where AB plays piano, I have often wondered about it
Another new box set here. Lorraine pieces played by a saxophone quartet

This thread is about the Mosaic, no? I thought @tranemonkwas referring to the Anthony Braxton Tristano set, but I could have misinterpreted

i haven't listened to it in some time but that solo Takayanagi LP is great.
Yeah, love its economy
Now this
Tony Oxley Quintet - the Baptised Traveller [CBS, UK 1969]
I'm not sure it gets much better than side 2 of this, the interplay is phenomenal and Jeff Clyne's arco

Candido – "Brujerias" De Candido / Candido's "Latin McGuffa's Dust"
It is interesting. A mix of Breton players on traditional instruments and themes with freeish jazz piano and reeds, plus percussion.
It slightly suffers from being a bit of a porridge, but it is enjoyable. Could have been more than enjoyable though, I think.
Thanks, not generally a porridge fan but will have a stream as the concept sounds interesting

Online sources, quoting family reporting this sad news. Dead at 45.
Not too sure how much he means to too many here but I saw him rip it up with Glasper a few years ago. He also played in later Stefon Harris groups and lots of others along the way.

It's short (32 minutes) but I quite liked it on first listen. It's on bandcamp, if you want to listen.
Great, thank you

There's that whole run of Bill Lee and Bill Lee endorsed records that are basically Isthmian League, if that.
The two with Bill Campbell as vocalist, definitely. Leave me pining for the heights of mid table League One definitely

That Zim set is probably the only DVD I still play. 😎
Yeah, I don't have a dvd player or I'd have bought it. Shame it wasn't a box set like the others but you can't have it all.

There are only so many C league Strata East records that need reissuing.
Ooh, fighting talk😄 Which ones, and is there a SE non-league division too?

90s night time TV throwback
Matlock first popped up for me on the Braxton 12 Comp Zim set. Been a fan of his since I heard that. Definitely recommended if you haven't yet checked that out.
Thanks, I bought one of the Zim nights as a download as I think it was the one I saw at Cafe Oto, which also means I probably heard Matlock that night. It was a great night's music that's for sure

I've just received my CD set, first two discs going down very well. And I agree about Matlock who is a new name to me who'll I'll be seeking more of

I believe Tindersticks "I", "II", "Curtains" and "Simple Pleasure" build a consistent body of work .... thereafter ups and downs occur ....
Thank you

Which was the last great Tindersticks album in your opinion .... ?
I stopped listening to them very early, at 'Curtains', and I'm not sure why now at this distance. So my favourite remains the first one.
My interest is piqued again so I think I'll stream some of the later ones. Obviously you rate 'Simple Pleasure' highly as you post it often so I'll start there. Which other later one would you suggest I try?

Sounds a bit raggedy on this one but the music makes up for it
