  3. echoing bill, myra is a key player in the beautiful new alex cline quintet cryptogramophone recording, continuation, which is available for download, but strangely not from the issuing label. i connect with most of her fine work, and this cd is fine, even by myra's standards.
  4. after working a few days with opera, it is by far the most perfect browsing experience for me ever. when you tire of the fox, and the chrome, and the IE, or for your mobile experience, this new opera suite is just stunning. i am most pleased by the ease with which it handles flash and it's ease of use. it puzzles me why opera isnt much more prevalent.
  5. this is a stunning porter----------as well constructed, elegant, rich, and tasteful as a lester young solo. how have i missed this all these years?
  6. been using opera on one machine and noticed that for some sites (more intricate stuff like booking flights) i had to use ie because the site designers were only prepared for ie, firefox and netscape... otherwise i'd second that recommendations i installed opera a few days ago and am pleasantly surprised. this is the best version ever. it blows firefox away on the flash and almost never crashes. http://www.opera.com/download/
  7. a couple years ago when i used firefox exclusively, i had great success deleting it, reinstalling, and changing skins. over the period of a few years, this worked really well at least 2 times. those skins(themes) can really get slimy.
  8. try to steer clear of google chrome. it's crashes with flash are legendary. eventually it will take down your machine. thanks to google chrome, i spent 8 hours thursday reinstalling everything windows. i booted chrome and firefox and sadly returned to an earlier(6 or 7) version which is working beautifully, so far.

  19. that comes well recommended. thank you.
  20. i havent heard the previn yet , but was considering purchasing it.
  21. sir michael tippett's 'a child of out time' in my opinion, is a masterpiece, for it's craftsmanship, taste, and above all, it's music. i have read criticism of the work that is scathing, and far more that extolls the work. have there been previous discussions on the subject? what are informed members opinions of the work?
  22. many. i am using this weekend to committ a dozen or so choice vinyls to cd.
  23. i bought her 'yeah' columbia album when it was new in the early 60's and have virtually played the grooves off it. it was in the acoustic trio setting. the pianist was hindel butts, as i recall. i have no idea whether it has been rereleased.
  24. http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/news/colum...nd_revoked.html put him away, please.
