  1. Some of these will probably not be compiled in 2004. If you actually want to use the covers (for me these are just a pasttime activity while listening to some good tunes and relaxing inbetween workloads), I can repost them with a different date. Just PM me when the time comes. Cheers! Would anyone mind if I opened a separate thread with cover designs? I make these all the time.
  2. #14 Cheers!
  3. #13 Cheers!
  4. #12 Cheers!
  5. #11 Cheers!
  6. #10 Cheers!
  7. Hell, I did a quick one anyway. But now I'm off to bed. Perchance to sleep ... Cheers!
  8. I'll do #8 another day. Gotta go and get some sleep. Man with the Golden Arm. Hm. Gives me an idea. Cheers!
  9. OOPS. I think I skipped #8. Just a sec.
  10. OK. Just experimenting a bit ... quick and dirty jobs. But it's fun (and I don't have to do my work). Cheers.
  11. Yep. Yep. Yep. I have the 1.8 too and drive them with a Marantz Class A amplifier. In that combination, the whole thing gets to sound a bit too "warm", but you can reign that effect in by ways of a good cable such as the Fadel Aerolitz or the Cardas Crosslink (in themselves, VERY different cables). So, the amp makes the sound, the speakers (at least somewhat, in this lower price region) are only supposed to reproduce the sound as neutrally as possible. Cheers!
  12. I smoke too much. And, cheers!
  13. I made a cover quick for volume 6. I saved with 80% compression and some of the red bleeds a bit, but if anyone wants it (try printing THAT with your color inkjet printer!), I can send it at full quality. Cheers! P.S.: I shouldn't be having that much fun, but I am. So more might be forthcoming. I'll use my next cigarette break for another one.
  14. [Maybe I should learn how to read] Ich auch. Das klappt! Muss klappen! Wird klappen! Muss. Wird.
  15. Check out photocase.de. You are allowed to download 3 images a day (high-quality ... some really good stuff - I took the ones for the two covers from there). But, the whole thing is "Sprechen Sie, Krauten Sie, y'all." IMHO, the best license-free image site on the web. Cheers! P.S.: Don't tell on me, but I have ten accounts there (for emergency reasons), but they will catch you if you don't mask your IP!
  16. Could I have the "Cool Tea Leaves" award instead, please? The only vice I don't have is coffee. BTW Yesterday I saw on eBay.com that someone is selling a bunch of Blue Note cover reproductions. High quality prints in various sizes. Has anyone ever heard of this project which was apparently shelved soon after it was started? Here is a link. Check out the many other reproductions via the "View seller's other items" link. [link still active for 5 days as from now] Cheers!
  17. I stand corrected and have changed the volume number to 40 (and I moved the whole shebang over to this thread from another one ... which is now, err, gone ... in case you are wondering what all of this is about). I've got the covers (and I will be adding more until I get to select the tracks for one future volume). Now, let's see if I fulfill the requirements ... I'll hop over to the sign-up thread.
  18. I'm moving what I posted here to the other thread. Then I will delete this one. There's a second cover version included, so do check it out in ten minutes or so.
  19. [Note: I've moved the contents to the "covers" thread.] Can someone delete this one? I'm too stupid ... or not allowed to do it myself.
  20. Hi Larry, I just ordered it! Thanks for the recommendation. It sounds just like what I am looking for. Cheers!
  21. Thanks catesta. Yep, I do have it. Great sound actually. And Young at his best. Does anyone have the Japanese Press & Teddy + 3 release? Where's the difference? Cheers!
  22. Thanks Chuck! I am already on their site. Hadn't been there for a while. I just stumbled across the 2-CD Storyville release of the 1940 Complete Fargo Dance date by Ellington. Has anyone checked that one out yet? Cheers!
  23. Now, I'm aware of the Mosaic box which I intend to buy, but can anyone here recommend good (if possible remastered or just good-sounding) small group recordings (CD only) by Teddy Wilson? I intend to get a whole bunch. Any info (also regarding sources where I can order these from online) is appreciated because there seems to be a whole lot of crappy stuff out there ... Cheers!
