My view of Bill Hardman is very different than your comment. He is one of my favorite trumpet players from the period when he was on the scene. One time when I was in NYC the Bill Hardman/ Junior Cook Quintet was playing at a club (can't recall the name of the club). Hardman was outstanding. His solos were creative, swinging and technically damn good.
