  1. Also includes some fine piano by Ray Bryant.
  2. Quartetto Italiano - Mozart- String Quartet K.458 "Hunt" - Berwald - Sinfonie Capricieuse (No.2)
  3. See the post by Guy Berger above. What I find so peculiar is Phil Woods plays beautifully, and is on so many excellent recordings. Benny Carter -" Further Definitions" being just one example.
  4. With: Gene Quill, Frank Foster, Frank Wess
  5. I know that Phil Woods has a lot of detractors on this board, and I do not share their opinions. I am a bit surprised that Bud Shank is, for the most part, ignored here? Bud was very much a part of the West Coast Jazz scene for a number of years and also was quite active in the studio and movie music realm. But as he got a bit older he said no more of that sort of thing. He put away his flute and became a very very hard swinging bop oriented alto player. I was fortunate to see Shank live a number of times and he was never less that damn good.
  6. Kjell Fageus & Talekvartetten - Brahms - Clarinet Quintet Op.115
  7. Bill Evans Trio - On A Monday Evening
  8. Haydn - String Quartet Op.55/2 "Razor" and Ries - String Quartet No.2, Op.70/2
  9. Candid released quite a number of good albums. Here are three, not mentioned in this thread, that I very much like
  10. Beethoven - Piano Trio No.1, Op.1/1 and Schubert - Piano Sonatas D.557 & D.625
  11. Ken Peplowski plays tenor sax and clarinet
  12. Spohr - Violin Concerto No4, Op.10 and Horszowski - Mozart - Piano Concerto No.14, K449
