  1. Ray Alexander Sextet with Kenny Barron, Warren Vache, Oliver Jackson, Harvie Swartz, Bob Kindred
  2. Both of these CDs were recorded at Cafe des Copains. However, the time I saw Hodes there it was a solo gig.
  3. Bjorn Johansen Quartet with Cedar Walton, David Williams, Billy Higgins
  4. I was fortunate to see Art Hodes live at the Cafe Copain in Toronto a number of years again.
  5. I saw Jimmy Cobb when he appeared at the Vail, Colorado Jazz Party. Don't recall the specific year but it must have been about 20 years ago? Richard Wyands and Peter Bernstein were in his group. And probably a saxophone player as well - Eric Alexander ??? The town of Vail runs a free bus service to take people to different parts of the town. I remember that my wife and I were waiting for the bus outside our hotel when Jimmy Cobb and Peter Bernstein came over to wait with us. We chatted with both of them while waiting for the bus, and also during the ride to our destination.
  6. Happy Birthday
  7. Mendelssohn - Piano Quartet No. 1 & No.3
  8. With: Conte Candoli, Bob Cooper, Frank Rosolino, Dick Shreve, Howard Ramsey, Stan Levey
  9. Yes, that is the actual cover. How did you find it?
  10. Bob Mintzer - Bop Boy with Steve Kuhn, Eddie Gomez & Steve Gadd
  11. Alejandro Espinosa Quartet - Like Someone In Love - Sony (Chile) With Ralph Lalama (tenor), Renee Rosnes (piano), Ramon Romero (bass), Alejandro Espinosa (drums) This was recorded in the country of Chile. A good friend who lives in Santiago, and is the leading jazz expert in Chile sent me a copy of this CD 20 years ago. I have been unable to find a copy of the CD cover online.
  12. I have 7 versions of Op.110 Two by Kempff, two by Serkin and one each by Schnabel, Lucchesini and Buchbinder (RCA) it is difficult to decide which I like best without sitting down and playing all the versions in a fairly compact time frame. And as J.A.W. said, the mood I am in would likely be a factor.
