  1. Ronan O'Hora plays Schubert Piano Works - Impromptu's, Moment Musicaux, German Dances, Scherzo's
  2. Ralph Sutton & Ruby Braff In Concert at Thebarton Town Hall, Adelaide, Australia - Nif Nuf Jazz Recordings 43/016 I was unable to find an image of this CD.
  3. Piano Trio No.3, Op.97 "Archduke"
  4. The radicals are in power? Yes, the right wing radicals. The Republicans control the white house, the congress, most state governors and legislatures. Free speech for conservatives on campus is an issue, but so is free speech for athletes, LeBron and Steph Curry, and NFL players who choose to kneel. And it was the current President who referred to those who did not applaud his Set Of The Union address as "traitors".
  5. Bollmann - Piano Quartet Tchaikovsky - String Quartet No.2
  6. Mazzarella's playing is not to my taste. Living alto players I prefer include Dmitry Baevsky and Dave Glasser, as well as some others who have been on the scene longer such as Dick Oatts, P.J. Perry and Bob Mover.
  7. Beethoven - Piano Trio No.3, Op.1/3 Dvorak - String Quartet No. 14, Op.105
  8. I am with the "comfort zone" group. New to me is when I find a new composer of string quartets from the "classical or romantic" periods of classical music. I can then listen to these quartets that are new to me, but fit within a general framework that I enjoy. It is very much the same within the jazz realm. For example, a saxophone player I have not heard before whose playing I like, yet plays within the stylistic areas with which I am comfortable. That for me, is both new and comfortable. As Dan indicated in a previous post. There is only so much time and so much money available. I want the music I listen to to give me pleasure. I am not really interested at this point in my life to explore music that goes well beyond my comfort zone. Been there and tried that in my younger days. Spent a lot of time listening to music - both jazz and classical with the goal of opening myself to music I was supposed to like.I discovered that for me, most it what I was listening to in this exploration period was either unpleasant, or boring, or both.
