  3. A few days ago, John Tapscott posted a highly positive comment about a new Jacob Chung album. I was not aware of Chung and so just checked out his earlier session below. After indicating that, in my view, Bernard Peiffer's recordings lack swing, I am happy to report that the Jacob Chung album "Epistle" will swing you into next week. I really like this one.
  4. I very recently played "Basically Bagley" with Rowles and posted it in the "What Are You Listening To" thread here. It was a nice album, but I prefer many other Jimmy Rowles recordings. At one time I had "The Soft Sell", but never found it very appealing, and disposed of it.
  5. I have never truly connected with Bernard Peiffer's playing. He has excellent technique, but to my ears, does not "swing", and his improvisation on tunes is on the dull side.
  6. I have the Japanese CD issue, and bought it long ago when it first became available.
  7. Good Question. It definitely has Bob Brookmeyer. Lord was not helpful, though I did not spend a huge amount of time going through it. The music and audio quality were both very good in my opinion.
  8. 2 favorites are sidemen on this album - Ernie Henry and Kenny Dorham.
  9. Berwald - String Quartet No.3 Strauss - Cello Sonata Op.6
