  3. During Lou Donaldson's long life he made many recordings. I hope to catch up on some that I missed. R.I.P.
  4. I slept on this one when it was first issued long long ago. Hearing it now, I find it is a good one. Some fine playing by Johnny Griffin and Bobby Timmons

  6. Back in about 1965 I was still living in Detroit. I used to go see the George Bohanon Quintet playing at a club, whose name escapes me. It was good hard bop oriented music.
  7. We all have our individual taste. The Ellington/Hodges "Back To Back" is, for me, an outstanding record. Duke Jordan has long been a strong jazz piano favorite of mine. His playing is very identifiable, which is not the case for a large number of other jazz piano players. I am a big fan of Duke Jordan, not only for his wonderful playing, but also his many terrific compositions. Currently listening to:
