  1. Yes on Flying Dutchman in 1975. Never reissued on LP or other. Bacsik also recorded an album in 1974 'I love you' with Oliver Nelson, Hank Jones, Bucky Pizzarelli... His last recording is the first album of the mandolinist Butch Baldassari "What's doin'" This album is really fantastic. Probably the best of Gainsbourg. -recorded novemeber 1963- There is also a live recording of this trio in october 1963 at the Théâtre des Capucines... In 1966 Bacsik also recorded with the bassist Michel Gaudry and the actress/singer Jeanne Moreau.
  2. Yes, these two albums are fantastic! Bacsik has been completely forgotten by the jazz community but what a good guitarist! He was also a fine violinist (he sounded like Trane!) Best Steven
  3. Hello everybody, I am researching the life and works of the hungarian gypsy jazz guitarist/violinist Elek BACSIK (Budapest, 1926 - Glen Ellyn, IL, 1993) . Virtuose jazz guitarist/violinist, he played with all more important jazz musicians of 2nd Half of XX Century as Dizzy Gillespie, Quincy Jones, Warne Marsh, Oliver Nelson, Ray Brown, Grade Tate, Kenny Clarke, Pierre Michelot, Clark Terry, Lou Bennett, Michel Legrand, Stéphane Grappelli, Miles Davis, ... I have already been in touch with many people who knew him : Daniel Humair, Art Simmons, Michel Gaudry, Michel Hausser, Nancy Holloway... Please contact me if you think you can assist. I am searching for certain rare and unreleased recordings, photos, sheet music and other documents. Thanks Steven Jambot Paris, France
