  2. I've not found a thread about that on the forum, so... To begin with : Warne Marsh : He died in 1987 at Dante's (a club in L.A.) while playing one of his favorite standards "Out Of Nowhere". Do you know more jazz musicians who died on stage ?

  4. Hi, I have a 10 incher Lou Reizner "Sentimental Mister Lou (Manhattan blues)" on GEM 120 (Guilde Européenne du Microsillon, FR) with Lou Reizner (voc), Art Simmons (p), Ted Rosen (ts), Harry Kelt (g), Lloyd Thompson (b) and Al Levitt (dm). Who is Lou Reizner? Do you have a link on the Internet or a biography? Thanks
  5. Hi, I've two LPs with duets of the jazz pianists Art Simmons and Jack Diéval recorded in the 60s in Paris. The sound is amazing (with great Steinways) and there is a good harmony between the two pianists. The sidemen are Michel Gaudry (b) & Daniel Humair (dm) on the first LP, and Jimmy Woode (b) and Franco Manzecchi (dm) on the other. Do you know if something similar have been recorded (with two pianos) ? Thanks

  9. Sorry, I think I took at the first degree the messages of Seth on a Google forum a few months ago. It is a confusion with his retirement, the man is using the past to speak of Billy Bean!... Excuse me Mr Bean... I sent a message to Seth to be sure... Billy Bean stopped playing many years ago. He dropped out because he began to lose interest in the guitar and music in general. He is one of my all-time favorites. Best

  15. That's right Jean-Pierre Leloir has archives since 1954! He always took photos with Leica cameras (perfect). Now he has more than 25 000 photos in his archives! I've met him and can say you he has a good organization: all people that appear on his photos have different entry. Yes brownie : big moustaches, and also smoking a pipe. Martial Solal composed in the 60s "Leloir est cher" (= Leloir's prices are too high), allusion to the french departement the Loir-et-Cher !
