  5. Sorry, I think I took at the first degree the messages of Seth on a Google forum a few months ago. It is a confusion with his retirement, the man is using the past to speak of Billy Bean!... Excuse me Mr Bean... I sent a message to Seth to be sure... Billy Bean stopped playing many years ago. He dropped out because he began to lose interest in the guitar and music in general. He is one of my all-time favorites. Best

  16. That's right Jean-Pierre Leloir has archives since 1954! He always took photos with Leica cameras (perfect). Now he has more than 25 000 photos in his archives! I've met him and can say you he has a good organization: all people that appear on his photos have different entry. Yes brownie : big moustaches, and also smoking a pipe. Martial Solal composed in the 60s "Leloir est cher" (= Leloir's prices are too high), allusion to the french departement the Loir-et-Cher !

  19. That is one of the rarest french EPs : one example known. The owner is Alain Antonietto. I have just done a copy for me... The recording is not very good, anyway Clarke, Michelot, Simmons, Gaudry, Bacsik, ... what a line-up !

  21. Found this rare item a few months ago. BirdandDizzy, for your information, Bacsik remains in background through the whole session! Yeah, I just love this album. Bacsik his really great on the background and very good harmony with the piano. There is also other recording with the same personnel (you also found the EP) : "Art Simmons" and his orchestra, recorded 9 november 1959 for Ducretet Thomson w. Clark Terry, Eric Dixon (fl, sax), Art Simmons (p), Elek Bacsik (g), Michel Gaudry (b), Kenny Clarke (dm) and Billie Poole (voc). So sad, Billie died this year in May. My friend Art Simmons is proud of this album and that's one of the few albums where you can hear -even in a bigger band- the trio of the Mars Club... (--Art, if you read this message...!--) --Steven
  22. "Quentin Jackson" recorded february 1960 in Paris (Ducretet Thomson). w. Quentin Jackson (tb, voc), Clark Terry (tp), Art Simmons(p), Elek Bacsik(g), Michel Gaudry (b) & Kenny Clarke (dm). Is this the only album under his name ?
  23. It's OK now, merci
  24. Sorry Brownie, you are hidden by me on the map because we are both living in Paris Désolé mon cher je n'avais pas anticipé la chose... Steven
