Is this any good? This is one to read. This book is the base of the movie "'Round midnight" of Betrand Tavernier with Dexter Gordon. 'Round Midnight is a brilliant movie ! And, if you haven't already seen it, read Paudras' Dance of the Infidels first. It makes the movie that much better. Francis Paudras makes the case that Bud was a co-inventor of what we call bebop. Paudras was close to Bud for several years and played a key part in his stay in France during the early 1960s, so this book is a kind of "work of love".

Hi, To those of you interested in jazz violin (specially bebop), Voice of America (VOA) radio has interviewed AB Fable about their violin (or should that now be voalin) CDs. Anthony Barnett (ab@abar.net), who is English, is a researcher into jazz violin. This Friday and Saturday they will broadcast two separate programs playing tracks from all the CDs mixed in with comment. I think and hope they will play more music than comment. The programs will then be available on the web all week. The two different programs will go out on Saturday FEBRUARY 11 and Sunday February 12. I suppose it comes from a VHS titled "Wes Montgomery - Belgium, 1965" It's only 25 minutes long. During their 1965 European tour Wes' quartet filmed five songs for the RTBF (Belgian television). It also exists on DVD on "Legends of Jazz Guitar Volume One".
