As for the newly issued vintage jazz, I would add: -the new Rollins (despite its below-average sound for some of the live recordings, the edits et al... the music is GREAT!!!) -the Dexter Gordon Quartet with Tete at Montmartre -the Wilen/Tete ‘88 recordings from Grenoble

Definitely, Spanish pianist http://www.moisessanchez.com/ I discovered him as part or Ernesto Aurignac’s Pluton ensemble and have been digging into his jazz (and classical) discography ever since. IMHO, the greatest talent on piano nowadays in Spain.

I was a latecomer to the BNBB, just a few months before the blow up. But happy it served as a trampoline to join this forum. This was the place to be... and still IS!!! Many, many names have disappeared throughout these 17 years (P.D., marcoliv, mmilovan... those were good friends back in the day. I even met and had dinner with marcoliv here in Madrid, many moons ago. With mmilovan I have just got in touch again...). Great contributions along the way, hopefully many more to come.

Yes, it is. Ricky Riccardi already wrote a book on Armstrong's later years (excelent one, btw), and hopefully another one will follow in years to come, focused on his early years. And if Armstrong's 'sell-out discussion' is intended as pejorative, I will forward this conversation to Ricky and you will have to deal with him. He can be very convincing!

Talkin' 'bout completists... I just checked again the list of the artists of whom I own the highest number of discs. Simple rules: a) boxed sets account for the number of individual discs contained; b) the list only includes leader or coleader discs; c) any format, including digital; bootlegs as well d) overlapping/duplication allowed Stupid and inaccurate exercise as it is, I always surprise myself when I periodically run it (for example: why on hell do I own so many Sun Ra and Cecil Taylor discs? or who's that "Varios.
