  1. Superb music .... great sounding edition ....
  2. Two winners back-to-back ....
  3. Agree, the Smetana Q was masterful .... beneath Beethoven (both "cycles") and Janacek also some excellent Dvorak, Martinu and Mozart .... we are lucky they recorded recurringly .... still wonder whether Czech Rado will open their archives as plenty of superb "live" Smetana Q recordings are said being in there ....
  4. Heavenly music ....
  5. On a rather sad day lot of reason to play the blues ....
  6. You`re welcome .... a veritable treasure trove ....
  7. Very sad .... Aretha thank you for the music an R.I.P ....
  8. Earlier today ..... :
  9. Nino Rota "Chamber Music" Kremerata Baltica (BIS) 1997
  10. Got this as very nice original Hannibal fold out vinyl release from 1981 .... the music is structured as sublime hommage to Nino Rota's euvre and is a gratifying listen (independetly of even knowing the original compositions) ....
  11. Back to the new thread aka "Songs That Always Make You Cry Whether You're Looking For It Or Not" ....:
  12. Excellent box set by Rhino .....
  13. One of my favourite (jazz)group formats as well .... btw would have loved to hear John Young + David Shipp + Wilbur Campbell "stand alone" in the 70`s ....
  14. HIs three Argo LP`s left me a bit cold as they struck me as rather leightweight .... didn`t listen to them for quite some time but believe "A Touch Of Pepper" was the strongest outing .... his perfomances with Von Freeman (beneath Atlantic both Nessa releases and the "live" album on Daybreak) document John Young as mature and self assured musician and soloist ....
