  2. I just picked up Hutcherson's Stick-Up last week, my first with him as a leader and it spent more than it's share of time on the turntable. I woke up early this morning to put in a few hours of work before the family arose, for what ever I was grumpy as hell. As the coffee was brewing I must have stared at records for 5 minutes and nothing looked good. I finally settled on Monk's Dream. You know, a cup a coffee and a few sides of Monk and the world is a better place. Bill

  15. This board is the primary influence on my jazz buying habits. I was happy to have my posting status returned to newbie, for that is the most accurate description. This board, along with artist’s monographs and more general jazz history books from the library is my jazz 101. Thanks. Bill

  21. I use the iMic with my Mac and it works great. RCA jacks from the Amp to a banna plug cord that plugs into the iMic, and it provides the USB plug. Very Simple. Let me know if you have any set up questions.

  23. If it were an option, sure. But $30 vs. and still going... At that price $30.00 is the purest pleasure I can afford. Bill
  24. Thanks, I will need to put that on my ever expanding upgrade list. Bill
  25. I recently picked up Charles Mingus – Mingus. It is a stereo pressing from 1985 made in Italy. The music is everything I was expecting and more, but the record has a low level hiss that is constant and omnipresent. Is this just the case on my low-budget re-issue, or do they all sound like this? Has anyone heard the Pure Pleasure Records pressing? Thanks, Bill
