  10. Jawbone - Thomas Napper (2017) Well, here's the kind of surprise that makes film viewing worthwhile. Mark Kermode heaped praise on this little gem and, although I often disagree with him, he was on the nail with this one. A fight film that is really a haunting character study, with real heart and soul, carried along by four terrific central performances, a fine script and businesslike direction. Watch it if you get chance. It's one of the year's best imo.
  11. That might well be true. More accurately I can't be bothered investing the time and effort into something I clearly neither like nor comprehend. I did like Mulholland Drive very much but that had some kind of comprehensible although bizarre narrative to glue everything together and hold my attention from slipping into irritated apathy.
  12. Barretts Of Wimpole Street Angela Bassett Basil Fawlty
  13. The Leftovers finale. Wrapped up nicely. Twin Peaks. Way over my intellectual pay grade. I'll leave this one to cleverer folks to ponder
  14. The Fog Of War - Errol Morris (2004) A classic.
  15. Junko Onishi - Seji Ozawa
  16. Life - Daniel Espinosa (2017) Starts out with a been there, done that, same old thing vibe, then it gets freaky scary.
