Thanks gnhrtg! I thought the ICP was OOP for quite some time (as some others now listed as "soon going OOP" on the hat website). I'll keep my eyes open, though at the moment I shouldn't buy even more... always the same problem, backlog growing, listening time, well... not too much, as always. ubu

Now that Chaney snatched the last ARP Music from Verge (I hesitated too long...), I went over to Cadence and ordered it from them (thanks, D.D.!) - I added a few soon to be OOP Hats: Now here's the soon to be OOP I'm still looking for (or need a bit of advice whether to spend big $$ on them or not): hatOLOGY 504 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT Misha Mengelberg The Root Of The Problem hatOLOGY 506 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT Matthew Shipp Duo with Joe Morris Thesis (I can live without this, I remember your comments...) hatOLOGY 511 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT Guillermo Gregorio Ellipsis hatOLOGY 514 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT Joe McPhee As Serious As Your Life (I guess this I need to hunt, right?) hatOLOGY 528 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT ICP Orchestra Jubilee Varia hatOLOGY 2-535 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT Misha Mengelberg Two Days In Chicago hatOLOGY 536 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT Steve Lacy Seven Clichés (is this one good? essential?) hatOLOGY 545 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT Anthony Braxton Quintet (Basel) 1977 (I have and like the Dortmund, so I suppose I'd like this one. isn't it OOP already?) hatOLOGY 551 / MIDPRICE / LAST CHANCE, SOON SOLD OUT Ellery Eskelin Ramifications And here's the OOP one I'd like to find... hatOLOGY 523 / SOLD OUT Clusone 3 Rara Avis (I know, I know, I might never have this...) Any comments welcome! On my to get list of the above discs currently are: Ramifications, Basel 1977, Rara Avis, Clichés, and As Serious as your Life. Not sure about the Gregorio and the Mengelberg/ICP's. ubu

which makes these sets utterly collectible! who needs numbers and pink slips when they can have an extra backcover-page? gottahaveitgottahaveitgottahaveit!!!!!!!! I will trade you my Mulligan for your Mulligan plus one other full fledge Mosaic set of your choice. Shit, I think I threw that backcover thing away as soon as I had the Mulligan... Should have sold it for big $$ to some strange Moose... So, as without that backcover thing, your European copy of that Mulligan Mosaic isn´t worth a single euro, you should send me that original boxed set for free.... you know my address!

Huh? What's that ugly cover? Mine looks like this, and I think the cover is alright:

That's no Fridays... so no possibility to grab them via webradio? It's Fridays, of course, sorry for any confusion. Here's a Guardian UK review I got via the CTList: ubu

Though I think some of the timings are wrong with those MP3s, no? Must check again, have some of these tracks on some cheapo CDs paired with more from that same tour. ubu

Not this year. You've had your share ubu -
Very nice price for the Monk Columbia box! Even though I will sooner or later have all the individual albums, I wouldn't want to be without the box. A real nice one!

Yup, I have it, and it's really nice. Got it on VHS (as with all self-recorded jazz films/concerts, which are few anyway). Any way to get this onto DVD? I suppose only if I send you the VHS cassette... ubu -

Norman Granz Jam Sessions box set
king ubu replied to jazzbo's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Is that one worth getting for the rest of what it includes, too? The Frémeaux looks good. Although I have almost nothing they did, I really like that label. Also they send a free catalogue each year... ubu -
No problem. The two cuts I heard are ok, but that's the kind of music you must have more to really judge... Drake played some various percussion instruments, it seems, before finally settling on drums. I hope they will broadcast this concert!

A little medical advice, please...
king ubu replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Jim, I just caught up with this thread. Terrible news! I wish you and even more so Alison all the best. I'm not the one who has prayers to offer, but you'll be in my thoughts for sure, and I really hope this takes a good turn! -
A funny read, yes! I don't have the set (and don't plan to get it), just in case someone wonders. I'm not into Braxton very much (yet). And I guess I would rather start with other recordings... ubu

I posted this in the "rat" already, and as I took the pains to type it up, I may as well post it here, too: Here's The Wire’s review of the recent 4CD Braxton box, as well as Leo Feigin’s reply. The review also covers Andrew Cyrille/Anthony Braxton’s “Duo Palindrome” discs on Intakt, and the hatOLOGY reissue of Max Roach/Anthony Braxton, “One in Two/Two in One”. I did not type up those parts (they follow what I did type up), as Feigin did only write about his own Braxton release. Now here comes Mr. Feigin’s reply: ubu (back from fighting for God and - what to call it? It's not God's own... - country)
