  1. Similarly - I have no problem with the sound, on either volume.
  2. Yes, such a great set. I was just on tour for a while, and listened to the Bach WTC recordings over and over and over again!
  3. Yes indeed! Now listening to the Rachmaninov Preludes from the same Eurodisc box set...
  4. Yes the Bach is really great here...
  5. I love Weissenberg...it goes without saying there's some magic here, but there's also some pretty cavalier stuff (albeit in a very exciting way) in the Schumann Symphonic Etudes!
  6. The Kreutzer. These are such great versions.
  7. Thanks Flurin! I think perhaps I did forget to mention it...but we’re all very proud of this one. This was one of those magic nights that you can have at Café Oto, and thank goodness we had the microphones up..!
  8. Read the Trotter biography of Mitropoulos only very recently...what an astonishing character..!
  9. I am indeed. Various pieces I've known and loved for a long while, but was only passingly familiar with most of the operas; so have been listening to these virtually non-stop for weeks (it seems!) now. I don't think it had ever quite sunk in just how *individual* Janacek was/is. And the sound of the Czech orchestras, and language, is just another reason...incredible...
  10. The Kleiber Beethoven is mind-alteringly brilliant IMHO (as are his live recordings of these two, as well as 4 and 6)...love this...
  11. Some of my favourite Chopin playing!
  12. Interesting...I haven’t listened to too much Trifonov I must admit.
  13. Love that Argerich/Abbado - especially the Prokofiev...
  14. I bet! Just listened to this on a flight:
  15. That’s really interesting you should say that - I had a bit of a sense she wasn’t getting ‘stuck in’ to the language as much as some...but yes indeed: that lineup you post looks incredible...
  16. I need to give it another listen...it didn't all 'wow' me, but by the same token, I thought some of it was very beautiful (I was also listening as much to the pieces as the performances in a sense, because most of these songs were new to me).
