  1. Oh interesting - how is this? I was listening to the Kletzki/Pollini Chopin concerto yesterday, and thinking how great the orchestral playing was on that...
  2. And actually, on Murakami...I'd forgotten that the Janacek Sinfonietta is important in 1Q84!!!
  3. Ah - this is actually one of the few of his I haven't read yet! Now listening to the 1957 Michelangeli Royal Festival Hall recital...the Schumann in particular is incredible.

  8. Oh - thank you! Yes...goodness...it’s beautiful there! And what a fantastic festival. Love these early versions! Heard the great man live this evening, in fact...he played the a minor etude as his third encore!
  9. Yes indeed! By way of contrast, there was a live recording of Pletnev playing the piece on the radio the other day which I didn't particularly get into (with the proviso that I was driving, so not optimal listening conditions)...but this one is very special.
