  1. Oh yes! Though I have to let my CD player cool down before listening to more Liszt...had Ogdon on yesterday
  2. Yup! Now onto volume 7 - the Glagolitic Mass/Taras Bulba pairing..!
  3. Wow! The Martinu is new to me, but I'm enjoying it a great deal.
  4. Oh - thank you! Yes...goodness...it’s beautiful there! And what a fantastic festival. Love these early versions! Heard the great man live this evening, in fact...he played the a minor etude as his third encore!
  5. Yes indeed! By way of contrast, there was a live recording of Pletnev playing the piece on the radio the other day which I didn't particularly get into (with the proviso that I was driving, so not optimal listening conditions)...but this one is very special.
  6. Thanks! I'll check this out. I listened a couple of nights ago to the Marguerite Long recording of the G major with Ravel conducting, which I thought was fantastic.
  7. Oh I don't know this one! My go to for Brahms 2 and 4 is Carlos Kleiber
  8. Indeed, wonderful! I don't actually have Vol.2, but I'll be keeping my eyes peeled. Now:
  9. (Though not this edition - listening from the Erich Kleiber Decca CD box set)
  10. Could well have been! Back to Mozart: the Busoni cadenzas she plays for no.20 are SO great...
  11. Absolutely! Pulled this out after hearing an incredible Beethoven op109 on the radio the other day...
  12. Mozart Piano Concertos - 20 (C major) and 22 (E flat) from this.
  13. Wonderful! Very personal playing. Olie - don't know those composers either. BTW on the Janacek Quartet recommendation about - it's a KILLER recording. I've only just acquired it myself: incredible stuff.
  14. Isn't it stunning??? This is my first listen...I got the record (which is in good nick) for about €2 the other whilst in Amsterdam for a gig...beautiful music, and what playing...
  15. Looks interesting - I haven't heard this! You know...I'm really not wild especially about the mazurkas here...but the G minor nocturne at the end of the record...wow...
  16. Schreier/Schiff doing 'An die Ferne Geliebte' etc. for me at the moment.
  17. Genius indeed...love ABM... I was listening to her play op.111 yesterday!
