  1. Should I go brush my teeth with toothpaste?
  2. I agree with Neville it is pretty fucking arrogant for the US women to visit their semi-final rivals' hotel for final placement scouting reasons. It looks like plain psychological warfare. I assume it's an unwritten rule such things are not done. Of course Neville is trying to motivate his players, rightfully so.
  3. They should just rename some of these festivals. North Sea Smooth Lame-ass Whatever Festival 2019.
  4. Terry Lynn Hudson playing Claude Debussy's Préludes Books I & II on MSR Classics. http://www.msrcd.com/catalog/cd/MS1620 Magnificently played and recorded. Much better than one of those cold Osborne Hyperion Debussy discs (not préludes) I bought at a discount and suffered through for some time. Both the playing and recording are better here IMO. One track from this 2CD available on soundcloud:
  5. Gefeliciteerd, Pim. Ik ben ook een liefhebber van Mal Waldron, maar duidelijk niet zoveel als jij!
  6. Free Cell Block F, 'Tis Nazi U.S.A.
  7. Somehow I'm not surprised to read this.
  8. McCoy Tyner Sahara (UCCO-5147) 2007 DSD remaster by Kazuie Sugimoto. First impression: I believe this sounds less flat than other digital editions. More enjoyable. A bit top heavy in places, but I believe this was also the case for a lot of the vinyl editions. Remains a poor (piano) recording. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up preferring this to the CD layer of the MFSL Hybrid SACD. 1987 OJC CD was awful. Very glad I got this. I believe this was reissued in 2012 as a budget CD (UCCO-90096).
  9. Who knows or cares what brings people to jazz. It does not matter. There's no reason you can't dive straight into the more far out stuff. I hate these proposed itineraries for the inexperienced listener.
  10. Well captured baritone, right? There was a more affordable NM copy of the India Navigation set on Discogs a couple of months ago, but the seller would not ship to Europe. Even then, import taxes can kill you if a seller does not know how to or isn't willing to help get(ting) your item through customs. This seller does and is reliable in his grading. I couldn't pass this up after having searched so long. And of course I have had a FLAC copy on my hard drive for ages, so I knew the money would be well spent.
  11. Teo Macero mix right? I ordered a copy at a local store last week.
  12. Letting it breathe, so important.
  13. An incredible tea. Well, it's pretty nice.
  14. Ordered through the MSR website where it's only $12.95 (amazon.com $31.98). Shipping to Europe relatively cheap at $11.95. http://www.msrcd.com/catalog/cd/MS1620 https://www.audaud.com/debussy-preludes-terry-lynn-hudson-msr-classics/ I didn't have any of the préludes yet and was looking for a well-recorded rendition ever since buying Mary Halvorson's The Maid with the Flaxen Hair.
  15. The HD Tracks isn't stellar either.
  16. Any thoughts on what mastering was reproduced here? ---- Now playing:
  17. This was another new arrival. The 24bit remastered CD from the Keepnews Collection. I played it four times in a row this afternoon! (Not the 2 bonus tracks.) Really liked this one. (But I understand opinions are divided?)
  18. Nice ... if you can get it!
  19. Yes, the India Navigation 2CD is so rare that the identical Japanese release was the more realistic though expensive option.
