  1. Hey Jim (or Use3D) Have you noticed that the times given for any action such as editing a post or logging in are totally wrong? Not a big deal, but what gives?
  2. I saw the Ya-Ya3 group in Detroit, in a double bill with the John Scofield Band. Great show, though I found Sco's group more engaging. Well, he is one of my all-time guitar heroes, and I happen to love Uberjam, so I perhaps I'm biased. There was an obvious joy for the music in Josh's group, and he is certainly a dynamic performer. And Sam might just be my favorite of the younger organ players. I like the loose sort of vibe that his albums have. Too bad if Jimmy Smith was having an off night. I saw him a couple of years ago at the Detroit Jazz Fest and thought it was wonderful. I couldn't stop grinning.
  3. Andrew, Thank you so much man! TJ has spoken very highly of you as well. He hasn't sent me any recordings, though... Anyway, thanks for stopping in, and I'm glad you like the music. I also hope we can hang out someday. Joe
  4. This is for everyone now registered here or thinking of joining the fray. I'm Joe Gloss, guitarist for organissimo. I never posted at BNBB, just occasionally checked it out if Jim mentioned something interesting going on over there. I just want to say how blown away I am by the response Jim has gotten from all of you concerning this forum. I had no idea that such a tight-knit and self-supportive community had been created over at BNBB. Even though I had nothing to do with setting this up, I would still be bursting with pride for my buddy Jim and for all of us together if everybody were to stick around and make this a regular hang. Blue Note's loss would be our gain, as a community like this would make the organissimo site so much more than just a promotional spot for the band. So thanks for coming 'round, and I hope to be chatting with all of you for a long time to come. Cheers, Joe G
  5. Edgar Meyer, Uncommon Ritual Mark Turner, Dharma Days Pat Metheny Group, Speaking of Now Bobby McFerrin, Beyond Words various Bach recordings
  6. Well, there is that other spam that I get a few times a week with the subject line of, "Break walls with your big cock!" Talk about your muti-functional unit!
  7. Thanks for the hot tip! I did a search and found the motherlode. This is from the official Gary Puckett website: Lyrics: 1. Why am I losing sleep over you? Reliving precious moments we knew. 2. So many days have gone by, still I'm so lonely, and I guess there's just no getting over you. 3. And there's nothing I can do, but spend all of my time, out of my mind over you. 4. Within the prison walls of my mind, there's still a part of you left behind. 5. And though it hurts, I'll get by without your love, and yet I guess there's just no getting over you. 6. Lady willpower, it's now or never. Give your love to me. 7. Let's give Adam and Eve another chance to show us how to love one another. 8. Better run, girl. You're much too young, girl. 9. Could I chase the bitter taste left in your heart by someone who said goodbye? 10. Did no one ever tell you the facts of life ? Well there's so much you have to learn. What can I say? The man's a poet. 6 and 7 are the best.
  8. So I'm walking downtown on my lunchbreak. I pass by Kelly's pub, which pipes music out to the sidewalk, and what do I hear? Young girl, get out of my mind My love for you's getting way outta line Get along, girl You're much too young, girl Or whatever the hell the lyric is. Perhaps someone out there can enlighten me as to who this "artist" is. B-3er tells me that infatuations with young girls was a recurring theme with this guy. EEK!
  9. Hey B-3er (or anyone else in the know), What's the news on Ron Blake's latest? In his latest online journal entry, he gave a link to cadencebuilding.com to get this disc, but I failed to find it there. And, is this the album with Joey D.?
  10. True, but Bill is one dark MF. A white man to SCARE the white man.
  11. Hey---props! Ain't that a bitch... B)
  12. Just got this one in the mail yesterday and we listened to it on the way to the gig. High level stuff, for sure. I'll need to let it grow on me for a bit before I can say for sure what I think of it. I know it's good, but do I love it? Too early to tell. Any thoughts from other listeners?
