And I wasn't going to be able to watch the ASG live, so I DVR'ed it...even was smart enough to set it up for an hour later than it was scheduled, what with all the pre game stuff and all....and It still cut off in the 12th! And the NL lost....again. I'm old enough to remember feeling sorry for the AL and wishing they'd win just one...enough already!!!

It just seems sad to me to watch great players get tepid cheers. Phil Neikro even pitched for the Yankees, and won game 300 with them...and barely got applause.

Got this one from a braves blog.... Jamie Moyer Change-Up Arrives At Home Plate After Long Journey

Just got a chance to watch the Derby I recorded (When I got home around 11, I was very confused as to why it was still on-and that Justin Morneau was the one to win it) and I've got to say....wow. WOW!!!! It was fairly interesting all the way thru, but then seeing Hamilton come up, and you know there had to have been pressure on him, what with him dreaming of doing this...and to put on a show like that, just amazing!!!!! Everyone at ESPN was talking about how different the ball sounded off his bat than anyone elses( I heard Milton Bradley saying that to his fellow Ranger teammates as well) I still can't get over how utterly effortless his swing appears. I also heard Rick Reilly(Never heard of the guy before, sue me! Never been a fan of SI) bring up the crying shame that Yankee stadium was soon to be no more, and all the big non baseball events played there....glad to hear him have the guts to say that....Then he had to whine about the HR contest being all white, looking like a kiwanis club meeting. He neglected to point out Vlad was afraid of injury, and A-Rod is a pussy, and wouldn't do it. Would he have felt compelled to say it was a damn shame if there wasn't a white guy in the contest????

Very sad....Joe Girardi was quite upset after the game.....

That must have been something to see, a walk off homer off of K-Rod. Say, a 21 game hitting streak, not bad for an overrated infielder! And I see Matt Harrison pitched 7 innings Tuesday for the win, and Salty drove in 2 last night....Wait Til Elvis comes up in a year or so....you guys will really be happy with the Teixiera trade... But, we will get the last laugh, watching him walk at the end of the year, and getting a late first round pick(And I guess a sandwich pick?) from some contending team. With Mike Hampton, Smoltz, and Glavine's salary coming off the books, there's no reason why the Braves couldn't sign him, but he's going to ask(And get) more than the Braves would pay.

Hanshin Tigers Acquire Chris Resop You may recall me mentioning Chris Resop's name before. He can touch 100, he's 25. But, hey when you have a 35 year old Julian Tavarez on your roster(Last night, 1/3 of an inning, 2 runs given up, just one earned to be fair) why keep him???? SFB!!!!

.383 for OBP, and .871 for OPS this year. .372 .905 for his career....I should be getting paid for all this!

I don't believe the Sox would give up Youk, watching him tonight and last night is there a better defensive first basemen in baseball ?..i doubt it. How are Teixeiras numbers ? ......is he good defensively. Tex is very good defensively. Just looked it up, he won the gold glove in 2005, and 2006. He has 16 HR's and 66 RBI's on pace for 120 RBI's. Hitting .276, (only .243 from the right side, but hitting much better of late from that side)This will be his 5th straight season of more than 100 RBI's. He just turned 28 in April. And he played most of his career in the AL, so no learning curve.... And you keep the Yankees from getting him, if you sign him long term....

Ok Red Sox nation.....heres a very interesting question....would you be willing to give up Kevin Youkilis to have Mark Teixeira????? again from mlbtraderumors.com Braves Stuck In The Middle By Tim Dierkes [July 8 at 4:50pm CST] MLB.com's Mark Bowman writes about the Braves' trade deadline situation at the Trade Talk blog. The Braves are in that gray area between sellers and buyers at six games out. Bowman says Braves GM Frank Wren isn't finding a reasonable deal for a power-hitting outfielder, but he's also disappointed by the Mark Teixeira market. Bowman believes the picture will be clearer and the offers better a few weeks from now. He adds that the Braves would seek a first baseman in a Teixeira trade. Perhaps James Loney, Casey Kotchman, or Kevin Youkilis would work. If the Braves buy, Xavier Nady is one possibility. Bowman wonders if the Bucs could look to reacquire Brent Lillibridge.

Whoa Nellie!!!! Cubs Acquire Rich Harden, Chad Gaudin By Tim Dierkes [July 8 at 5:25pm CST] 5:36pm: The AP story is out. The Cubs get Harden and Chad Gaudin for Gallagher, Murton, Patterson, and catching prospect Josh Donaldson. Jim Hendry did his best to counter the Brewers' acquisition of CC Sabathia, and Gaudin is more than a throw-in. The A's get three MLB-ready players plus a solid offense-oriented catching prospect. 5:25pm: Dave Kaplan of WGN Radio in Chicago reports that the Cubs have acquired Rich Harden from the A's. Sean Gallagher is reportedly part of the deal, and possibly Matt Murton. Hal McCoy says Eric Patterson and another minor leaguer are also included. More when I have it. Harden, 26, has been dominant in 13 starts for the A's this year. The injury-prone Harden is a tantalizing player; he's only topped 130 innings once but has a career ERA of 3.42. The latest concern: decreased velocity/dead arm in his last start. Harden has a $7MM club option for '09, which is highly likely to be exercised. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/

Look out bitches, the braves ARE back! And it all starts with the signing of....Julian Tavarez Lets see what the stud did with Milwaukee, after being released by the Red Sox....hmmm, last 2 1/3 innings, 8 hits, 3 walks, and 5 runs....oh yeah, we NEED him. Meanwhile, Chris Resop is no doubt still hitting 98 in Richmond, but we can't risk him coming up.... braves have SFB. Shit for Brains....

bet she paid a lot of money for that "do" -
gave up one lousy hit! Might as well pitch a perfect game, IMHO....
-
Hiroki Kuroda has a perfect game after 6 innings against the Braves! His stuff is beyond amazing tonight!
-
It seems pretty obvious that Papelbonis is afraid to throw his splitter(Didn't see the game or highlights...yet) since it didn't a few times this year leading to the other team winning....that pitch made his fastball unhittable, IMHO.... Go ahead, tell me he thru 10 beautiful splits tonight.

Didn't I see at the same time that like three Braves went on the DL? I'm sure that it was a need for bodies, not how much he had improved, that led to the call up. So - stupid, but if you've got such a problem with healthy bodies, it sort of excuses it. But it was two pitchers, and Infante...a backup infielder, who can play the outfield(and did yesterday) But we've got this speedy guy, Josh Anderson, that hit .319 in 22 AB's (and was sent down for no reason even the beat writer could understand) and he stays down....He doesn't have power, but neither does Frenchy right now....IF he does what Andruw is doing right now(Andruw I think was 4-8 in the minors, and is now 0-9 since coming back up) are they going to send him down, yet again???? Just crazy to not give it til the All star break. They won 2 of 3 without him....

After 3 whole games in AA to work with the hitting coach that helped him get his swing right in 2005, the Braves have recalled Francoeur!!!! Shit for brains! From the manager on up! http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3476648

He's a real freak alright, if his 2 seemer is faster than his 4 seemer! He's great, no doubt about it....but....no justice if he doesn't start??? Who has more wins than he does??? Who has a lower ERA?? And who plays half of his games in the great American small park??? Edinson Volquez!!! 11-3, 2.36 ERA. If he doesn't start, there's no justice!!!

Chucky, and Barry Bond's agent, must love all this AL EAST talk! I thought Veritek looked the last few years like a guy swinging too big a bat, just can't catch up to fastballs. Why don't they DL Manny??? He hit any and all fastballs earlier in the year, hammy has to be the issue, right??? How about Tex to the Red Sox, if Ortiz can't come back??? Thing is, we NEED outfielders/and someone to replace Tex... not really hurting with pitching, which is purely insane, since we lost 4/5th's of our starting rotation. Maybe some crazy 3 team trade????

thanks for posting this to answer the question you didn't ask: according to her wikipedia entry she has "very, very thick pubic hair, which she nurtured by combing it from age of eighteen" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasa_von_Werder OMG, it's Kelly Everts! I recall her from Playboy a few times way back in the day.....I really thought it was a man with a really good boob job at first.... How she looked back in the late 70s'
