That is Pelosi, without the wig....

Well he was cruisin' for 5 innings and then started throwing batting practice......i can't figure out Dice-K I like how Steve Berthiaume says whenever he pitches, he feels like driving a spike thru his own head! I have never seen a guy who can walk leadoff hitters more often, and still get out of trouble. I just don't like watching him work. And it means an already too long Sox game will be an extra 20-30 minutes longer. I also laughed a few weeks back when Kruk said he thinks Steve isn't really a Red Sox fan, he just likes to bitch all the time! Kruk just doesn't get that is how Sox fans are.

Great news Bruce! Treat yourself to something you love to do, that you don't do taht often because of cost....

Well, so far I may be a bit premature but Nady does not at all resemble a .330 hitter. Granted, he's facing pitchers he hasn't seen before, but I've yet to see him display smart pitch selection when swinging the bat (unlike Abreu who is rumored to be gone after this season in favor of the "X" man). The 0 for 7 against the Sox doesn't bother me so much as the fact that he did not hit one ball hard, and when he came to the plate in last night's game with the bases loaded and only one out, and had a hitter's count 2-0, he then swung at a high ball 3 fastball, popping up a lazy fly to short center, not deep enough to score the man at third. Time will tell, but so far, a bust when under the intense scrutiny engendered by a Yank-Red Sox series. Hey, Nady hit a home run tonight, he's the next Babe Ruth! Man, I don't know how anyone has success in NY or Boston these days, when you can get judged in 7 AB's! New league, (Hey, its a guy from the NL, thats the fastball league, give him nothing but offspeed stuff, meanwhile, lets see if I can get a fastball under Ortiz's hands, never worked before, but I'm sure this time....)shock of moving , wanting to impress the new team, etc, etc, etc. He's not a HOF'er but, even when he had just ok numbers in years past, he's been a guy who you don't really want up when his team is just down a run or two. If he goes from hitting .330 to 300 in the AL, I think the Yankees will be happy with that.

Well, after the Braves played their best game, oh I don't know, 4-5 years Friday in a 1-0 win,(best defense I can ever recall from them in one game) they lost 2 games to the Phils, after having big leads in both. Usually, if you score 9 runs against Cole Hamels, you will win the game, but nope...they lost 10-9. Then today they had a 5-0 lead and lost it, and Brian McCann got a concussion when Shane Victorino went in helmet first into home....Also, Tex left after 7 innings without an injury(And McCann out of the game already) score was 12-5, but the Braves scored 5 more runs...really strange, if he wasn't traded. Cox leaves in McCann in 12-0 blowouts, so why take out Tex, unless he had been traded??? Haven't heard a word about a trade yet though.....

Allen, just give up eating anything that tastes good. Chocolate, onions, OJ, mint, catsup....all bad for you if you have acid reflux....I took that stuff for awhile....luckily I had no problems with it, but it didn't do any good either. Prevacid is very expensive, but docs will give you samples if you ask...and it's worked best for me... -

And Slide, forgot to say glad you made it aok! I recall seeing a story on some actor who had been in some comedies in the late 90's(forget the name(s) of them) taking a nephews new bike out, sliding on gravel on a curve, and has been paralyzed from the waste down, ever since! -

I imagine you spend every waking moment helping them, don't ya? The NP, as I like to call it, looks pretty sweet, thanks! Jimma ain't very good at cards. I also won Rosalynn. -
Motherfuck Manny! If that MRI doesn't come back with something major, DROP HIS ASS NOW!!!!! I don't think that's an option unless you are willing to give up the farm for Teixeira (and risk him leaving) or that dude from Colorado who barely hits outside of Coors. Yes, give up the farm! That is, if you've got any hitting down there...we are not dying for pitching, strangely enough...If you trade for Tex, he's what, 9 years younger, and will play 155-162 games every year. And no Tex being Tex issues. If "you" would be paying Manny 20 Mil next year, why not dump him instead, and pay 23 Mil for Tex??? I'd think the peace of mind would be easily worth 3 mil...I know, for several years afterwards but....if you have JD Drew for years, Tex is a much safer bet long term... Or, get Holliday. Over the last 3 years, he's hit .281 on the road, .370 at home. With guys forever on base, and that green wall, he'd hit .300 easily..... He hit .294 last year in the WS. Everyone said Andres Galarraga would never put up the numbers he did back when Mile high was a home run haven. Last year in Colorado,(at the age of 36) 41, 140, .318. First year with the braves, 44, 121 .305. He's a gamer, no doubt....

Sure, just give us Beckett or Papelbon and he's yours! Seriously, he's way too good to give up, he just doesn't blow saves....what can you give up for that??? He's cheap, we will need him in 2009....

I as well will never get on a motorcycle that sticks in high gears. Not to be mean, but she was a bit of a moron to begin with... I'd hate to read what you'd say about her, if you meant to be mean! Between your comment and Lowe's....not the most compassionate folks I have seen. -
That'll be HUGE! That's the truth! The Cards I think are starting to see the smoke dissipate and mirrors crack ...

Wow! Sounds like a miracle no one was killed. Hope your Mom recovers as quickly as possible!

Hey, Big Al....How many damn catchers you have on that team??? Is Taylor Teagarden the great, great, grandson of Jack??? Looks like you have a glut of catchers. Not a bad problem to have!

Dan, we didn't have one, but I recall a cousin showing me how he could turn his tv on by shaking his keys!!! Our first betamax had a corded remote! I may be the only person on this forum with beta and Laserdisc remotes still! Then again, knowing the weirdos here....probably not.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Bruce! Best of luck in the future!

Dan, it just makes sense to wave goodbye to Manny this year, IMHO. And that incident with traveling secretary just seems to make it even more likely, especially if it really is true he purposely didn't swing in the 9th against the Yankees over a fine. Youk is having a great year, but who knows if he will keep hitting like this next year??? This might be his Davey Johnson year. Like you said, move him to left next year and put Tex at 1st. Or, watch Manny start to fall apart next year and miss the chance to get Tex....I'd love to see Manny play in Toronto, with no life at all....he'll never have it as good as he's had it in Boston

Have you heard any talk that when Sheets walks, that the Brewers might sign CC since he has a better history of being healthy year in and year out??? Seems to me he wouldn't be that much more than Sheets would be....and without Sheets and CC next year, there is no way to compete in the Central next year...A very cheap team though....
