  1. Oh Man, would it not be cool to see some of this crap happen?????? NL could be in playoff tiebreakers until Thursday By Jayson Stark ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: September 28, 2007, 3:15 AM ET Comment Email Print If you think the National League standings are making you blind, it could easily get worse. Try looking at the tiebreaker scenarios. ONE-GAME PLAYOFFS Potential tiebreaker matchups based on coin flips: NL WILD CARD Philadelphia at San Diego San Diego at Colorado Philadelphia at Colorado Arizona at San Diego Arizona at Colorado Arizona at Philadelphia San Diego at New York New York at Colorado NL EAST NY Mets at Philadelphia NL WEST San Diego at Arizona Colorado at Arizona Colorado at San Diego If four teams in the East and West finish the season with the same record, we predict business will be booming at all kinds of ophthalmologists' offices near you. Among the fun possibilities if that happens: The Padres theoretically could play in Milwaukee on Sunday, in Arizona on Monday, in San Diego on Tuesday, in Philadelphia on Wednesday, back in San Diego on Thursday and then in New York on Friday. But dont write any of that in ink. This is such a mess, MLB had to declare Thursday "Emergency Coin Flip Day," because let's just say some of these matchups didn't look quite this likely a couple of weeks ago. Ready for the most crazed scenarios? All right, here goes: Four-team craziness: If the two NL East teams and the top two NL West teams all tie: Just for the sake of discussion, let's say the Mets, Phillies, Padres and Diamondbacks finish with the same record. Here's how that would work: • The Mets and Phillies play a one-game playoff Monday in Philadelphia to decide the NL East. • The Padres and Diamondbacks play a one-game playoff Monday in Arizona to decide the NL West. • The losers then play Tuesday to decide the wild card. A Diamondbacks-Phillies game would be played in Philadelphia. A Padres-Phillies game would be in San Diego. And if the Mets are involved, they would play Arizona or San Diego at home, but they would have to go to Coors Field if they wind up playing it off with Colorado. Amazingly, the Mets and D-backs didn't find any of that out until Thursday, because back when the original wild-card scenarios were determined, nobody at MLB apparently envisioned that those scenarios would include New York or Arizona. Uh, oops. So a whole lot of frantic coin-flipping went on Thursday to sort all this out. More four-team craziness: If two NL West teams and the two NL East teams all have the same record: • It's still possible that the Phillies, Mets, Padres and a fourth team (either the Diamondbacks or Rockies but not both) could all have the same record. But that creates two different scenarios -- one if there is a tie for the NL West title, another if the NL West clubs finish tied for second (and the wild card). • If there's a tie for both the NL West and NL East titles, there would be tiebreaker games Monday in Philadelphia and San Diego. • Then the two losers would meet Tuesday. Here are the sites of those potential games: • Phillies-Padres in San Diego • Phillies-Rockies in Colorado • Phillies-Diamondbacks in Philadelphia • Mets-Padres in New York • Mets-Rockies in Colorado • Mets-Diamondbacks in New York • But if the two teams tied in the NL West finish second, we have a whole different game plan. The only similarity is that the Phillies and Mets would play Monday in Philadelphia to sort out the NL East. • The loser then would then move on to a three-team wild-card tournament that would work the way we laid it out above. But here is how baseball would decide which team would get the option of one road game or two home games • In an Arizona-San Diego-New York three-way: Diamondbacks. • In a Colorado -San Diego-New York three-way: Rockies. • In an Arizona-San Diego-Philadelphia three-way: Diamondbacks. • In a Colorado-San Diego-Philadelphia three-way: Rockies. So that's the lay of this goofy land. Everybody have it all straight now? You'd better. There will be a quiz in the morning.
  2. Dan, Will you root against the Sox if the Cubs play them?????? as for pitching, Zambrano, Ted Lilly, and Rich Hill all have over 170 Strikeouts(Rich Hill leads the way of course ) Rich Hill is really good, and still learning. Great breaking ball. Man, I would love to see those two teams. But, IF the Cubbies did win it all, with 85, 86 wins, could you stand it????
  3. Well, I seem to recall Colorado coming into Fenway and the Sox losing 2 of 3 and being outscored 21 to 4....of course, Colorado isn't in there yet. Phils are now tied with the Mets for first place!!!!! If they had ANY pitching, they would be an amazing team in the playoffs!!
  4. I can open doors with it. Very handy... Yuck, think about wee willie being where all those hands have been!
  5. Yeah, and you all have 10 inches hanging between your legs as well! I did 100 in my 69 Impala convertible once, top up....sounded like the world was going to end soon. Plus, it takes so long to slow down. I didn't want to kill someone, or myself. Plus, would have DIED if Ihadn lost my license, and couldn't drive for 6 months or a year. I liked the stoplight to stoplight kind of speed. My beat up Impala with the small V-8(350) was still faster than 90% of the cars on the road in the early 80's. Hopefully, a few kids traded in their supposed muscle car for some vintage iron after I got through embarrassing them. Seriously, it was quiet, and looked like it wouldn't be able to move without someone pushing it. Nowadays, tiny Toyotas would blow it's doors off.
  6. Was it burning hot in Arizona? I hate being in heat... Bet the Missus didn't mind so much.....
  7. Say, I thought you had given up on the majors??? I guess one never gives up on the Cubs...permently!
  8. Man, how about the NL Wildcard race??? Fightin' Phil's .5 game out, Colorado, 1.5, and get this, the completely given up for dead by everyone Braves 3.5 out!!! They also play 3 games against the Phils in Philly. And the Braves starting pitching is as good as it has been all season right now....but, I really would rather see the Phillies or Colorado get in...Well, I think. Braves could have easily won 15-20 more games this year if the ol Manager was a better in game manager. But, IF by some fairly large miracle, the Braves snuck it, it could only happen with someone like Cox, he just refuses to believe it is over, when it's over!
  9. I figured this was all Bradley's fault, but interesting comments by his 1st base coach... SAN DIEGO (AP) -- A wild-card race that was already wild turned absolutely bizarre Sunday, and Milton Bradley was right in the middle of it for the San Diego Padres. Bradley was ejected and then hurt his right knee when Padres manager Bud Black spun him to the ground in an attempt to keep him from going after an umpire. The Padres were livid, claiming that first base umpire Mike Winters baited Bradley in the eighth inning, leading to a confrontation that overshadowed the surging Colorado Rockies' 7-3 win and an impressive three-game sweep of the wild card-leading Padres. Bradley, whose volatile temper has overshadowed his talent during his career, called it "the most unprofessional and most ridiculous thing I've ever seen." "It's terrible. And now, because of him, my knee's hurt," said Bradley, a second-half catalyst for the Padres who was in his third game back from an injury that sidelined him for nearly two weeks. "If this costs me my season because of that, he needs to be reprimanded. I'm taking some action. I'm not going to stand pat and accept this because I didn't do nothing wrong." Asked about his knee, Bradley said: "I've got to get an MRI. It's killing me, though." The punchless Padres retained their half-game lead over Philadelphia, which lost 5-3 to Washington, while the Rockies pulled within 1½ games by winning their season-high eighth straight. San Diego stayed 2½ games behind first-place Arizona in the NL West with seven to play. Colorado is four back of the Diamondbacks with six games remaining. An inning before Bradley was hurt, the Padres lost center fielder Mike Cameron after Bradley stepped on his right hand while the two pursued Garrett Atkins' inside-the-park home run. As Bradley walked to the plate in the eighth inning, he and umpire Brian Runge talked for about 25 seconds. Bradley singled, then said something to Winters. Later on in Kevin Kouzmanoff's at-bat, it escalated into an argument, with Bradley going toward Winters. First base coach Bobby Meacham began to restrain Bradley and Black came running out. Bradley got away from Meacham, but Black grabbed him by the jersey. Division Magic Numbers The magic number is derived by adding one to the number of remaining games and subtracting the number of games ahead in the loss column from the second-place team. Here's where the leaders stand: AL EAST x-Red Sox 6 AL CENTRAL x-Indians Won division AL WEST x-Angels Won division NL EAST Mets 5 NL CENTRAL Cubs 4 NL WEST D-backs 5 x-clinched playoff spot Bradley was attempting to get free and, after a few seconds, Black spun Bradley around and the player collapsed. Bradley immediately grabbed his right knee and eventually had to be helped off the field. "I was trying to pull Milton away from the argument," Black said. Runge said that after Bradley struck out looking to end the fifth, he "flipped the bat about 5-10 feet in front of me." Bradley said Runge asked him in the eighth if he threw his bat at him. "I said, 'Are you kidding me? That's ridiculous.' He said, 'Well, it was reported to me by the other umpires that you threw your bat at me.' And I said, 'That's completely ridiculous. I've done a lot of things. I'm trying to turn it around. I would never harm anybody." Once on first base, Bradley asked Winters if he told Runge he threw his bat. "He goes, 'Yeah, you did.' I go, 'Are you kidding me? That's completely ridiculous. If I strike out and the inning's over, why are you looking at me? Everything's always about me." Then, a fan heckled Winters. "I pointed to the guy in the crowd, affirming it," Bradley said. Bradley said Winters responded with a string of expletives. "That's when I went at him and he kicked me out," Bradley said. Crew chief Bruce Froemming wouldn't allow a reporter to speak with Winters. Froemming said Bradley "got grumpy with Mike Winters. Winters told him to knock it off and he continued it. There is no covering up what he did. He had to be physically restrained. We're not going to put up with it if he wants to talk." One batter later, Black ran onto the field after third-base umpire Hunter Wendelstedt called a checked-swing strike on Adrian Gonzalez and was ejected. Meacham defended Bradley. "In 26 years of baseball, I can honestly say that's the most disconcerting conversation I have ever heard from an umpire to a player," Meacham said. "It was almost like he wanted to agitate the whole thing. He wanted to get Milton boiling for some reason. Milton, he held his cool. I was just appalled." Padres CEO Sandy Alderson, a former general manager and president of the Oakland Athletics, said he'd never seen a player injured like that. "But as far as I'm concerned, it was necessary," he said. Alderson used to work in the commissioner's office, where one of his duties was overseeing umpires. "We're not going to sit by and see an umpire bait a player," Alderson said. He added that if the commissioner's office concludes the situation was handled appropriately, "I'll be shocked." Brad Hawpe homered for the second time in three games and Jeff Francis earned his 17th victory for the Rockies, who roughed up Greg Maddux. Colorado also won its franchise-best 84th game as it tries for its second playoff appearance in its 15-year history. The Rockies won the NL wild card in 1995 before losing to Atlanta in the first round of the postseason. "Their actions speak louder than anything I can tell you guys," manager Clint Hurdle said. "I'm just proud of the way they're going about their business." Hawpe went 8-for-13 with two homers and five RBIs in the series. He is 12-for-21 with 10 RBIs in his last five games. Francis (17-8) held the Padres to two runs and seven hits in eight innings to tie the franchise mark for wins in a season. He struck out eight and walked one. Maddux (13-11) lasted only 3 2/3 innings, allowing five runs and eight hits. Bradley homered to center in the third. Josh Bard connected in the ninth. Game notes It was Colorado's 36th road win, tying the franchise mark set in 1997. The Rockies have three more road games, starting Tuesday at Los Angeles. ... Francis' 17th win tied Kevin Ritz (1996) and Pedro Astacio (1999) for the franchise single-season record.
  10. Well, it still sounds kind of interesting. I have liked all of his documentaries to some extent, so will give it a chance. Just no one give away who won the war please......
  11. Why Not?? I thought Cindy was quite cute....when I was 7! You know what's weird?? What I am going to ask in a sec. Anyone else notice the girls you had a huge crush on when you were young??? Then you see them again in a movie when you are an adult!!! Creepy, huh??? Kim Richards, Jodie Foster, Tatum O'Neal??? They seemed to be hot "older" women as a pre teen, now they are just 12 year olds on screen. Yuck! Well, at least there is Carny with Jodie Foster as a young woman....garters...sigh....and you know, she is totally into guys, you can just tell!!!!
  12. Marcia Brady aka Maureen McCormick Had Lesbian Sex With Jan! Posted September 21st, 2007 by wildouble in News I thought it was old, old news that the Brady's were not as clean cut as their TV counterparts. I think one was gay and died of AIDS, Greg was banging Jan, and Jan was banging Peter, or something like that, but it seems that Marcia was really actually banging Jan. No way! Maureen McCormick details her lesbian experiences with Jan (Eve Plumb) in her tell-all book which hits shelves in 2008. A source told The National Enquirer, "The most explosive comments will be how the then-blonde, blue-eyed cutie developed a crush on Eve Plumb, which led to some sexual play. This book will certainly come as a shocker. While Maureen is not a lesbian, she reveals there were some sexual hijinks going on behind the scenes. It's bizarre because she played such a virginal character on the show." If we knew back then what we know now, this could have possibly helped the Brady girls careers. Thank God for 2007 where naked pictures, cocaine and lesbian scandals actually raise your star-meter instead of lower it. The Brady Bunch days must have been such a bore, since they had to keep underage lesbian sex quiet, sounds kind of like Nazi Germany. Not to mention if it were 2007 there would of been a tape, or at least some pictures we could of published. http://www.2snaps.tv/9811573
  13. Weird, couldn't find a cd version on Amazon, just a cassette! Am I missing it somehow??? I have seen obscure cds not show up, imports, but a Columbia release? Strange.....
  14. Wow, I'm a prophet. Thought you were an Atheist!
  15. Sorry that we are concerned about lead paint....I'm sure you won't have to let that paint go to waste, someone, somewhere won't care about their children ingesting lead. Mattel, the world’s largest toy maker, apologized to China today over its recalls of Chinese-made toys this summer at a meeting with China’s product safety chief. Press accounts of the meeting in Beijing said Thomas A. Debrowski, Mattel’s executive vice president for worldwide operations, had apologized to China for harming the reputation of Chinese manufacturers. That prompted criticism from American politicians and others that Mattel was kowtowing to China, where the company manufactures 65 percent of its toys in partnership with dozens of Chinese vendors. But Mattel countered those press accounts this afternoon, saying they had mischaracterized Mr. Debrowski’s remarks. Mattel sent Mr. Debrowski to the meeting to apologize to consumers in China, not to manufacturers there, a spokeswoman said. His remarks were not intended to address harm that has come to the reputation of Chinese-made products as Mattel and other companies have recalled millions of toys, she said. “Since Mattel toys are sold the world over, Mattel apologized to the Chinese today just as it has wherever its toys are sold,” Mattel said in a statement. Nonetheless, Mr. Debrowski’s comments created a furor in the United States. “It’s like a bank robber apologizing to his accomplice instead of to the person who was robbed,” Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, said in an interview. “They’re playing politics in China rather than doing what matters.” Mattel released a copy of the draft of remarks that Mr. Debrowski planned to make at the meeting with Li Changjiang, China’s product safety chief. In those remarks, Mr. Debrowski clarified that many of the units recalled this summer were magnetic toys that, though produced in China, were recalled because of a design mistake by Mattel. “Mattel does not hold Chinese manufacturers responsible for the design in relation to the recalled magnet toys,” Mr. Debrowski said, according to the copy of his planned remarks. A spokeswoman for Mattel said she had not seen a video or heard a recording of the meeting to confirm what Mr. Debrowski had in fact said. Press accounts from Beijing quoted him as saying that the “vast majority of those products that were recalled were the result of a design flaw in Mattel’s design, not through a manufacturing flaw in China’s manufacturers.” Mattel said when it recalled the magnetic toys in mid-August that those recalls were not caused by a Chinese vendor. That made those recalled items different from the more than 80 other styles of toys that Mattel recalled because they were tainted with lead paint. The reports from Beijing today quoted Mattel as saying that its lead-related recalls were “overly inclusive, including toys that may not have had lead in paint in excess of the U.S. standards.” That was not inconsistent with previous remarks by Mattel executives, who said throughout August that they had recalled more units than necessary because they were being conservative. But some critics today said Mattel should not have lumped the magnetic recall in with the lead-paint ones. “They really mixed these issues,” said Dara O’Rourke, an associate professor of labor and environmental policy at the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. O’Rourke said that Mattel has been more focused on public relations rather than fixing its problems. He said that Mattel used China as a scapegoat for its own problems and that the toymaker is now paying the price for that. “There’s no question that Mattel is still completely committed to operating in China and needs those factories,” he said. “There was a lot of scapegoating China, but I would argue that this was caused by a system that is designed to push down costs and speed up delivery. There are root causes and Mattel is behind those.” Management experts said that Mattel is in a tight position with the messages that company executives have to deliver to keep its partners happy. “They have relationships with suppliers, they have relationships with customers, they have relationships with governments and with investors,” said Steven D. Eppinger, the interim dean and a professor at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “But they cannot give them different messages.” Mr. Eppinger said it is more difficult maintaining good relationships with vendors abroad, and that communications can be misunderstood more easily. Marshall W. Meyer, a professor at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, said that Mattel’s legal counsel might not be so happy with the remarks attributed to Mr. Debrowski in the face of the lawsuits. “I’m no lawyer, but my reaction was this was plaintiff’s Exhibit No. 1,” Mr. Meyer said. “Did the corporate general counsel weigh in on this?” http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/21/business...ml?ref=business
  16. I don't think anyone else is close. Well, no doubt he is the front runner, but Delmon Young has 12 HR's 90 RBI's and a .292 BA.
  17. by a landslide. 31HR's, 85 RBI's, .325 BA, and he didn't come up til May 25th!!!! Still has the Brewers record for homers by a rookie.
  18. Well now, I wouldn't say that....clearly they are better than the teams in the NL, but who would have thought a NL team could beat Detroit last year, the team that beat the Yankees in 3 games I believe? I'd love, just love to see the Sox play the Phillies in the WS. Oh man, no bullpen at all in Philly, but man can they bash....and could you imagine the scores in those two bandboxes??? lots of 9-8 games...in the 4th.
  19. Gee, you mean the Braves were really making money all along, and the 80 mil cap was B.S.??? Shocked, shocked I am! Rarely seen financials show Braves doing well
  20. Good luck with that! TOKYO (AP) - The world's oldest man celebrated his 112th birthday Tuesday, saying he hoped to live forever. Born Sept. 18, 1895, Tomoji Tanabe was named world's oldest male after the death of Emiliano Mercado Del Toro of Puerto Rico. He died in January at age 115. On Tuesday, the mayor of Miyakonojo City, where Tanabe lives, presented him with a bouquet and a letter of congratulations. When the mayor asked how many more years Tanabe wanted to live, Tanabe replied, "for infinity," according to city official Yasuo Yamashita. With his ascetic lifestyle, Tanabe has a good shot at living for at least a little longer. A former city land surveyor who lives with his son and daughter-in- law, Tanabe is in good health and is known to guzzle milk. He also keeps a diary, avoids alcohol, and does not smoke. Japan has one of the world's longest average life spans, a factor often attributed to a healthy diet rich in fish and rice. The number of Japanese living beyond 100 has almost quadrupled in the past 10 years, with the once-exclusive centenarian club soon expected to surpass 28,000, the government announced in September. The country's centenarian population is expected to reach nearly 1 million—the world's largest—by 2050, according to U.N. projections. The increase underscores both positive and negative sides of the country's aging population. While experts say there are more active centenarians than before, the rapidly graying population adds to concerns over Japan's overburdened public pension system. The world's oldest person, 114-year-old Edna Parker of Shelbyville, Ind., was born on April 20, 1893, according to Guinness World Records.
  21. 227,000 paying customers as of August, at $7.95 a month, shouldn't that generate more than 21 Mil instead on 10 mil a year???
  22. No, he wasn't watching it....after he destroyed his TV.... Well, now we know how much confidence Francona has in Gagne -- none. I mean isn't the whole reason they brought Gagne to Boston was to have him pitch the 8th, then bring in Paps to shut the Yanks in down in the ninth? I thought Francona managed in panic mode last night, now, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Yankees sweep. But in retrospect, would you have put Gagme out there last night? The guy has not done much yet to instill any confidence in his ability. If EG had pitched the eighth and given up a run or two, we'd be all over Francona for putting in that chump. ...Or at least I would. Maybe Gagne will get it together before the end of the regular season, but I wouldn't count on it. And I'd run him out there a few times against TB, Tor, Bal... Meanwhile, for the first time in 10 starts CC Sabathia has a bad inning and gives up more than 2 runs in a start (while striking out a career high 13 against KC). Outpitched by Brian Bannister who deserved more than a no decision. Fortunately, ex-Indian David Riske was there to serve up a game-tying HR to Victor Martinez in the 8th and a game-winner to Casey Blake leading off the ninth. Coupled with a White Sox victory over the Angels, the Tribe and LAA are now tied for the second best record in the AL (2.5 games behind Bos). I hear what you're saying about Gagne, but why I thought it would've been a good idea to bring him in was that Boston had a five run lead, and I think that Gagne could've handled the inning with that kind of a lead. I know, the Yankees had two lefties coming up to start the 8th, but still, bring in Gagne and if he was able to handle it, that would've given him a big boost in his confidence. Besides, he did come in the 9th and didn't do that bad of a job. I just have a bad feeling about Boston after that game, but on the plus side for Boston, Manny is still out. One last thought: How can a nine inning game take 4:43 to play? If Boston doesn't win the division, or go deep in the playoffs, the Red Sox nation will be partly to blame, IMHO. How??? Well, you can't ever make a mistake as a manager anymore. IF he had brought Gagne in, and the Yankees had hit two home runs, well don't ever pitch him in Fenway again.(They still might not use him in Fenway again!)There'd have been death threats against him. So, Francona uses his 2 best relievers, and it's still Francona's fault they didn't succeed. Okajima needs rest. Papelbon didn't have enough time to warm up, (Cuz Okajima didn't get one single out)everything was Francona's fault!!! When your best guys get batted around, you tip your cap, and try to get them the next day. Instead, Francona is going to be paralyzed the next two games knowing whatever he does will be wrong if the team loses. And I didn't even get into the pressure on guys like Lugo or Renteria to succeed. Yeah, if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen, sac up and all that.... well there is a point that you can reach that instead of getting a chance to excel turns into better not fail, and good things rarely happen in those situations. The Sox clearly have the best pitching in baseball, the Yankees the best offense. But, if the Yankees win this year I think it will because there is less pressure on them, of all things.
  23. No, he wasn't watching it....after he destroyed his TV....
  24. I don't know if anyone here really knows(or cares ) how stupid Bobby Cox is these days, but one reason the Braves will be sitting at home again come the playoffs is addressed here by the Braves beat writer who usually lays off Bobby's idiocy....(This was from a 9-5 column.... It probably won’t surprise any of you that Willie Harris is still in the lineup and still batting leadoff today. The ship’s going down, but Bobby Cox doesn’t show any indication of changing course at this point, despite Harris’ skid. And man, it is a skid. Harris is 3-for-47 (.064) in his past 17 games before today, with one RBI, one stolen base and a .151 on-base percentage. (AS I WRITE THIS, he just snapped an 0-for-25 streak with a single in the bottom of the first inning). Statistically it’s Harris’ career-best season in most regards. But it’s a tale of two seasons for the 29-year-old outfielder, and the second of them has been, frankly, pretty awful. Harris hit .383 with a spectacular .940 OPS (.440 OBP) in his first 45 games for the Braves through June 25. But in 58 games since then he’s hit .215 (38-for-177) with a .648 OPS (.309 OBP). Folks, he’s been mediocre to bad longer than he was good this season. And despite that .309 OBP over 58 games, he remains in the leadoff spot on days he’s in left field, which is more days than not since he plays against right-handers and Matt Diaz against left-handers. Look at those stats again — .215 average, .309 OBP, .339 slugging - since June 26, and compare them to a few other relevant players. In that same period Diaz has hit .355 with a .397 OBP and .610 slugging percentage (not to mention eight homers, seven more than Harris has hit all season). And how ‘bout the two other, better leadoff options? Glad you asked. In that same span, since June 26, Kelly Johnson has hit .314 with a .404 OBP and .527 slugging percentage (not to mention 22 extra base hits and seven homers). In that same span since June 26, Yunel Escobar (who is dropped from leadoff to eighth on days when Harris plays) has hit .349 with a .397 OBP and .457 slugging percentage. There is no reason, no explanation given or plausible, for Harris to still be hitting leadoff. And with the way he’s hit in recent weeks, plenty of folks wonder why he’s still playing at all ahead of Diaz, who was given what was apparently just a one-day trial as the regular left fielder when he played against a righty last week and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, after which it was back to the platoon. By the way, it now seems clear the Braves were a better team with Johnson batting leadoff, doesn’t it? They were at least better at the leadoff position. They went from leading the league in several leadoff categories when he was the guy, to ranking in the middle of the league in most leadoff categories now, including a .276 overall average that ranked eighth among NL teams from the leadoff position. For the season, Harris has hit .228 with a .316 OBP and .357 slugging percentage in 171 at-bats from the leadoff spot. Escobar has hit .351 with a .385 OBP and .465 slugging percentage in 114 at-bats from the position in the lineup, and Johnson hit .284 with a .387 OBP and .470 slugging percentage in 264 at-bats from the leadoff spot before today.
  25. Thats ok Pops, just have a seat in that rocking chair over there..... Actually, I know what they are talking about, but haven't seen any of the films...cuz I am a old coot! Why can't they make comedies like those swell Olsen and Johnson films?
