  1. Not at all. Send me your address via PM or email and I'll get a copy out to you.
  2. You are correct. I just checked the disc and my notes are incorrect.
  3. This one?
  4. I rember this great disc that came out a few years back called Molam Lao, which had a bunch of guys mostly from Thailand, I beleive, playing these huge harmonica/accordion-like instruments on these very structured, minimalist but dance-like tunes (as I fondly but hazily recall). Really cool stuff. We actually got loads of play from the late night free-form people who usually play little else but rock and elctronic. --eric ← I'll keep my eyes open for a copy of this one. It sounds like something I would really enjoy.
  5. They are located in Massachusetts and I had the discs within a day or two. I've ordered through FE quite a bit and only had a slow delivery once, when an obscure disc I wanted was out of stock. Their shipping price is very reasonable, if ordering multiple titles. $4.50, for any size order.
  6. I just bought four more this week. The one I posted above as well as Molam: Thai Country Groove From Isan, I Remember Syria, and Night Recordings From Bali. The Cambodia disc I already owned is fantastic. Radio India is good, but not one of my favorites. Broken Hearted Dragonflies is in a category of its own. Very good, but very different from the rest of the catalog. If you do end up ordering go through Forced Exposure, as they have the most reasonable prices I have been able to find.
  7. I chose this specific track for a reason, which I'll get to when I post my answers. It was hard to choose only one track from this eclectic set.
  8. The label Sublime Frequencies has been releasing some fantastic music over the past few years. Their releases vary between field recordings, radio broadcasts and rare old cassette tapes, most of which are recorded on location, although some are collected from collections in the U.S. I'm listening to the first volume of recordings from Sumatra right now and highly recommend it:
  9. You have. I bought the cd based on your recommendation.
  10. If I'm not mistaken, only two tracks have still not been identified as of today: #8 and 9. D.D. has identified the composer of track #9, but no one has identified the musicians yet.
  11. King Ubu, do you have any idea where I can find these "free" CDRs? ← go here. There are two live shows available. One is 3 discs, one is 2. Both feature ROVA, among the many musicians.
  12. his album on Nessa, Procession of the Great Ancestry, is fantastic, and not mentioned often enough: Has anyone heard his disc Lake Biwa, on Tzadik? I remember reading some rave reviews when it was released, but nothing since.
  13. I'll have to look at the disc again. I was referencing my notes. Perhaps I missed Sordini when I was compiling personell listings.
  14. This one? If so, could you put that and the Gator "Bar Wars" aside? I'll drop you an email tomorrow! ← Yes, that's it. They are both on hold for you.

    Funny Rat

I believe the Handy disc is from 1996. I posted on the World Music thread to see if anyone is familiar with this album. There are quite a few fans of Indian music who might have heard this one already.
  16. Are any of you familiar with John Handy's Musical Dreamland? He performs with Pandit Prakash Maharaj (tabla), Shivanath Mishra (sitar) and Gunther Paust (tanpura). It sounds like this could be a facinating collaboration.
  17. I'll most likely get both, but I will start with that one. Thanks!
  18. The Fazio disc I took this track from is on Splasc(h), not Leo. I have never heard either of the discs on Leo, which I will have to rectify immediately. I'll add both of them to "the list." Would you recommend one of the discs on Leo before the other?
  19. As is the name of the band on track #1. I tried to throw a few curveballs in the test that would make people doubt the Italian connection. Track #9, for example.
  20. I gave a small hint in my response to cannonball-addict. David, feel free to provide hints if you can think of any that won't give away who the players are immediately.
  21. Great guesses! I really enjoyed reading your comments. You nailed the theme, too.
  22. Well, at least I identified it was tenor saxophone. ← I'd be very surprised if you had not heard this disc (or even owned a copy) at some time, but I could be wrong. I should also give you partial redit for track #9. Shepp does not appear on this track, but he did write the tune.
  23. No, that is not Breuker. One of the hardest decisions I had to make was which Gebbia track to choose. As you said, the disc is so diverse that only selecting one track can give a false impression of the disc as a whole.
