  1. "Cedar's Blues" from Disc 1.. Phil certainly doesn't sound like a man who is struggling with COPD. His solo is very powerful.
  2. Very nice. Thanks
  3. That was Joanne Brackeen with Getz at Keystone Korner, wasn't it? The Resonance CD, right? Jessica Williams is a fantastic piano player. As a jazz fan that's all I care about really. I have a number of her CD's in my collection, though it's only a fairly small slice of her discography. She has recorded a massive number of CD's.
  4. Fine swinging player whose recordings I enjoy. I own a couple on the Organic label with Grant Stewart and Tardo Hammer as sidemen, plus I've heard several on Spotify. The CD referenced above by Cyril with Ferdinand Povel is an excellent recording.
  5. I love this new Thad/Mel "All My Yesterdays" set. I don't think I've ever heard Hank Jones play better than he does throughout this set. Every one of his solos is just a gem that fits the music and complements the chart perfectly.
  6. "Lover Man" from Disc 2. Great arrangement, and a marvelous solo performance by Joe Farrell.
  7. Where's the sample? Couldn't find it on the site. Never mind. Got it. Sounds well recorded which you would expect in the Black Forest . Good Evans for sure, if not spectacular, but again it's just one track and one listen.
  8. Just about every Gerald Wilson is worth savoring. Along with a definite thumbs up for "Theme for Monterey" I really like this one.
  9. "Dicky Wells Blues" from Incredible. Could have picked the preceding track "Lady be Good", as well. Equally wonderful.
