  8. Thank you for sharing this, @hopkins! Fascinating stuff. What a cool thing this young man has done, making his entire collection available to the public -- and just as important -- sharing his passion and his expertise! The whole thing sorta reminded of a Japanese jazz kissa that's dedicated to early jazz. Next time I'm in NYC, I'm going to go!
  9. Thanks. I'll check it out. I can hear that. They're both coming out of Coltrane -- like nearly everyone was back then.
  10. Ugh. Sorry to hear this. Terrible news. NP:
  11. I wasn't aware that it had been reissued either -- until I saw it on Dusty Groove's site. According to Discogs, it was reissued in January of this year. I'm super-stoked that it's available again. I'm not a Japanese jazz expert, but it's definitely one of the most compelling J-jazz albums I've ever heard. EDIT The down-side of the reissue? Like many Japanese reissues, it's not cheap. It cost me nearly $50. OTOH, the one original Kiso listed on Discogs is priced at $1,649. 😬
  12. @jazzbo, what aspect(s) of their "house sound" don't appeal to you? I'm just curious.
