Next up:
Ross Tompkins and Good Friends (Concord, 1978)
with Al Cohn, Monty Budwig, and Nick Ceroli
Al Cohn elevates this date, making it something much better than ordinary.
Now that you mention it, it does indeed look like a sticker.
Now spinning:
Harold Mabern - Rakin' and Scrapin' (Prestige, rec. 1968)
OJC LP reissue
Very cool.
That particular line-up -- with Mraz & Foster -- only lasted for one album. Beginning with their second LP, Quest II, the bassist was Ron McClure and the drummer was Billy Hart.
I've never had a chance to see Quest live, but I did see Liebman & Beirach as a duo at Mezzrow back in 2019.
From Baden Powell to another exceptional Brazilian guitarist:
Laurindo Almeida with Salli Terri, a.o. - Duets with the Spanish Guitar, Album 3 (Angel)
Originally released as For My True Love (Capitol, 1959)
