  1. I'm going to give that a listen. Thanks for the prompt. Are you familiar with this one, @jazzbo? It also features Marc Copland & Gary Peacock. While it's not exactly recent -- it's from 2006 -- it's a wonderful record.
  2. Yes, and that's good to see. Between their in-house "Jazz Dispensary" series and Zev Feldman's reissues, it appears that (at least SOME) of the Muse catalog will be made available again. Yeah, that's an excellent set. Since I have it, I won't be ordering the vinyl. (The CDs are perfectly sufficient for me.) But I'm still glad that the vinyl issue will be available for others. Also, I think Perception is the strongest of the four albums in that set.
  3. Nice. Arabesque put out some really good music while it was in operation.
  4. Andrew Hill - Live at Montreux (Arista-Freedom, 1976)
  5. Billy Higgins - Bridgework (Contemporary, 1987)
  6. More Pee Wee Russell: My LP is a Barnaby reissue.
  7. McCoy Tyner - Focal Point (Milestone, 1976)
  8. Now spinning: Norman Connors - Love from the Sun (Buddah, 1974)
  9. Next up: Lester Young - Pres and Teddy and Oscar (Verve, 2 LPs, rec. 1952 & 1956)
  10. Spinning this again while I have it pulled from the shelf: Jimmy Heath - Love and Understanding (Muse, rec. 1973)
  11. Disc 1 - originally released as Consciousness Excellent.
  12. Jimmie Rowles - Shade and Light (Ahead FR, rec. 1978) with George Duvivier and Oliver Jackson Good one!
  13. Sounds good. 👍 Yeah, it's a shame that those albums were never issued on CD. The music certainly deserves much wider recognition.
  14. Joanne Brackeen - Keyed In (Tappan Zee/Columbia, 1979) with Eddie Gomez and Jack DeJohnette
  15. Now on to LP 2 of Lucky Thompson's Illuminations with Cedar Walton, Sam Jones, and Louis Hayes originally released as I Offer You Equally brilliant as Goodbye Yesterday!
  16. More Lucky Thompson: LP 1 of 2 - originally released as Goodbye Yesterday! with Cedar Walton, Larry Ridley, and Billy Higgins Tremendous.
