  4. I found some classical vinyl bargains at philadelphiamusic on Discogs. All four LPs are lieder recitals.

  7. They do. A few years ago, I saw the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra perform Mahler's First Symphony. You're right. Recordings are great, but there's nothing like the live experience. NP:
