  1. Now listening to Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen performed by Mildred Miller & Bruno Walter, as heard on this set:
  2. I found some classical vinyl bargains at philadelphiamusic on Discogs. All four LPs are lieder recitals.
  3. I just checked the ASO's schedule: https://www.aso.org/events/detail/oundjian-conducts-mahler-symphony-no-7 Hmmmm.
  4. Rush - Counterparts (Atlantic/Anthem, 1993)
  5. They do. A few years ago, I saw the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra perform Mahler's First Symphony. You're right. Recordings are great, but there's nothing like the live experience. NP:
  6. Disc 2 - Lieder by Mahler, Schumann & Reger
  7. Mahler: Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection" performed by Rafael Kubelik and the Bavarian RSO, as heard in this set: Lots of Mahler for me lately.
  8. Inspired by the @Referentzhunter post above:
  9. Wish I could have been there for that. Jealous!
  10. Now playing: Gil Fuller & the Monterey Jazz Festival Orchestra featuring Dizzy Gillespie & James Moody (Pacific Jazz) 2 LPs on 1 CD
  11. Strata-East Now this: I love this album.
  12. Looks like most are digital downloads only. That's better than nothing -- but some sort of physical media would be preferable (to me).
  13. Another take on Mahler's Seventh:
  14. CD 10 - Mahler: Symphony No. 7 performed by Simon Rattle and the City of Birmingham SO
  15. Coincidentally, Tommy Flanagan for me too: Per Wikipedia: Five of [Sea Change's] eleven compositions were recorded by Flanagan in 1957 for his debut album, Overseas, including "Relaxin' at Camarillo" and four Flanagan compositions ("Beat's Up", "Eclypso", "Verdandi" and "Dalarna"). The other titles are thematically related to the earlier album, which was recorded in Stockholm, either by their connection to the idea of the sea ("How Deep Is the Ocean", "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea", "I Cover the Waterfront", "Sea Changes"), referencing Stockholm ("Dear Old Stockholm"), or, in the case of Ma Rainy's "See See Rider", including a homophone of "sea" in the title.
