  1. I must admit I'm shocked; I thought he'd be around longer for some reason.
  2. How about a link, or the rest of the story? These forfeiture laws are nothing more than legalized theivery. Just one more indication that the American Dream is dead...
  3. David Lynch Lydia Lunch Lurch
  4. Well, you're a fellow Costello fan, Alexander; you can imagine how I felt thinking he could have written that dreck!
  5. Having given this topic a little thought (couldn't sleep), I'd have to say that I have no trouble seperating the artist from the music. I've never been able to relate much to the people that become fans of the person rather than their work, so maybe that explains it. On the other hand, my least favorite Lee Morgan album is the Lighthouse (Bluenote) set, because whenever I hear his announcements, I think "My god...he sounds like a moron!" So I guess as long as a musician isn't actually killing someone between sets...
  6. Not the worst song in the world, perhaps, but I'll explain why I'm adding it after the lyrics... Can you make it easier for me to understand How you're holdin' my heart In your tremblin' hands I say rise to meet me halfway up among the stars You may be from Venus, but I'm definitely not from Mars You're an ocean, you're an ocean Settle down, settle down What's the commotion? I'm an island, but you're an ocean It's a stormy sea of love and emotion You've got me suspended motionless inside Make the warm winds circle round my head just like you do If I could do it, I could turn it to you I believe I'd buy whatever you would sell to me Nothin' in my life ever came with a guarantee You're an ocean, you're an ocean Settle down, settle down What's the commotion? I'm an island, but you're an ocean It's a stormy sea of love and emotion You've got me suspended motionless inside I believe I'd buy whatever you would sell to me Nothin' in my life ever came with a guarantee You're an ocean, you're an ocean Settle down, settle down What's the commotion? I'm an island, but you're an ocean It's a stormy sea of love and emotion You've got me suspended motionless inside You've got me suspended motionless You've got me suspended motionless inside. This song has regular play on the recorded tape loop at work. The more I heard it, the more the vocals sounded like Elvis Costello. No, I thought; it can't be...it's just too stupid! Well, I finally got up the nerve to check on google, and it's not. Sorry to doubt you, McManus... Whew!

  8. Wow...Goodspeak keeps adding insults to Dan's intelligence to his posts, and Dan calmly refutes his arguments with facts. I think an investigation is called for! What are you two trying to pull?

  10. Probably because you're changing the argument with each post...
  11. $4.24 out here yesterday. I'm learning to fill up in the morning; miss at least one price increase!

  13. I've never ordered directly from Okkadisk; I always go through Chuck Nessa for Okkadisk material.
  14. That's ridiculous. It's a puzzle or a bone of contention because it was a freakin' psychic, for crying out loud. This is pathetic. It doesn't have a damned thing to do with "kids come first". It has to do with a complete lack of both common sense and intelligence.
  15. I predict that I'll be shocked and disgusted the next time I read this article as well...
  16. Penelope Pitstop Dick Dastardly Muttly
  17. Nuclear waste is deadly and dangerous, granted. But it's not like we're not doing any damage with coal and gasoline. I'd say it's time to take our heads out of the sand and start looking into it.

  20. They say the nut doesn't fall far from the tree, but they neglect to mention that it can roll downhill for a hell of long ways...
